There will always be some stupid Laowai defending the indefensibly barbaric and predatory behavior that is so prevalent here. Disgusting, isn't it? Best thing we can do is educate ESL teachers that they are an asset whose demand far outweighs their supply, (especially in the case of qualified and experienced instructors who are earning their schools a fortune), and in light of this they should also demand to be valued and compensated accordingly, commensurate to the revenues they bring into the institutions privileged to avail their services, and accept nothing less. I should also point out that when "cultural differences" are brought up as an excuse to justify this depravity, I would retort that such behavior in fact signifies a complete lack of culture, unless culture is defined according to its biological denotation as a breeding ground for bacteria.
