Re: The Thin Blue Line

"do not think it is a campaign targeted at the foreign teacher as such - remember:China obviously is in urgent need of foreign teachers!"
Turnoi

Yes, indeed. But the question is, what is that "urgent need" based on? The quick and easy answer is that it is based on scamming students into believing that by enrolling in their training centers, international colleges and the like, they will be on the road to success. Other than the rare students who find a way to get the most out of what these scammers call education through their own motivation and out of class study, the real beneficiaries are the owners and the leaders who successfully market their programs by touting the glories of their system and bilking naive parents out of their hard earned cash.

It's always about the money. If you can't find the answer to any question you have about teaching English in China, just remember that.

My advice: do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to teach where your professionalism and dedication will be appreciated for reasons other than your ability to attract students simply by virtue of your white face.

Steer clear of China, teachers; especially you newbies.
