Re: Another Scam Recruiter TEFL JOBS WORLD - tefljobsworld.com

I had exactly the same experience, perhaps a bit worse. I paid $49 for the Premium Teachers service which was supposed to find me a job. The correspondence from them was full of errors, by the way. Odd for an ESL site. Bottom line, they offered me a job but said that their "client" required that I take their online course to be certified to teach. At the time, I had 8 years experience teaching ESL, a B.A. in Communications and a CELTA certificate. I asked what certification they were talking about. It was "their" certification. I declined to pay for that and never heard from TEFLjobsworld about any other job. The whole thing is a ripoff.

Although I had no service from them, they continued to bill me $49 monthly through SWREG, Digital River. I wrote them each time and I contacted SWREG Digital River, too. TEFLJ.W. said they would stop billing me as it had been an error. They billed me again the next month. My credit card company disputed the charges and recommended that I change my credit card number, which I did.

But I continue to receive a statement from SWREG each month telling me that "my order" did not go through and asking if I would update my information. Today it is exactly one year since my original order. The email addresses for TEFLjobsworld no longer works and the site itself now looks like it's just a site with links to other sites. I hope they have gone out of business.

I'm glad you wrote this and I hope other teachers will read this! They are a fraud.

TEFLJobsWorld.com .. excellent TEFL course

I have only good stuff to tell about their site. I finished their TEFL course ans they found me job in Italy. There is some others who offer similar service but none of them for the same pricing. Well, that's all I can tell.

Re: Another Scam Recruiter TEFL JOBS WORLD - tefljobsworld.com

I got scammed by tefljobsworld.com. I paid a $29 fee (reduced from $75 on promotion) (huh!!) to gain access to their premium area for teachers, as they promised me a job in Malaga, but all they did was suggest that I take their 120hours tefl training course online as required by "the employer" (which is 'obviously' another scam). I should have followed my instinct, it didn't feel right all from the beginning. I guess I was too naive as well as desperate for a job but this is how we learn, right?!

Spelling

You're a teacher and can't tell the difference between there and their? Really?
After reading your post I'm more inclined to believe the company had reason to lose interest in you.

Re: Another Scam Recruiter TEFL JOBS WORLD - tefljobsworld.com

Well, the job board on their website is free of charge and they never asked me for a dime. The only thing they are charging for is the premium service I believe.. which is fair enough for what I got in return.

Another Scam Recruiter TEFL JOBS WORLD - tefljobsworld.com

- http://tefljobsworld.com/index.php - TEFL JOBS WORLD - This 'recruiter' sent me an email advertising themselves as a resource for teachers looking for jobs. However the web site is extremely similar to the 'Jobs4Teachers' web site which is a scam. Don't pay any of there fees or trust this Web site.
