I am very sorry to see that you just accept the job Mr. Long introduced. X university is a famous university in China, every year, we employ many teachers without any agent or angency. I am in charge of the whole university foreign teachers affairs, if you don't trust me, you can first pay a visit to X university.

I'm a foreign teacher who only considers jobs offered to me via the agent Mr. Long. I received your recent e-mail re teaching at your university, I was surprised because I haven't yet asked Mr. Long to seek a job for me commencing August/September 2010!

In my initial posting about Jack Long, I forgot to include his e-mail address, which is <jackandenglish@gmail.com>

There is a man out there, who I presume is based in China(though who knows?) and who is concentrating his attentions on those who have posted their resumes on this and maybe other foreign teacher employment websites.

He sends a 2 line e-mail saying he has skimmed your advertisement and that he is interested in offering you a job and asks for your resume. That's all his first e-mail says.

You may then be tempted to ask for details of the job and he will tell you it is a middle school and they need a foreign teacher each semester and summer holidays and that the pay will be "about" 7,000 a month and 20 classes a week. I sent him my resume only and told him that I would follow with all the other copy documents at such time as I had from him a fully detailed offer of employment

His third email said that all would be ok and that we would "discuss" the details but I must send him all my copy documents so that "further consideration " may be made.

At this I told him I wanted a fully detailed offer setting out all the relevant terms and conditions. That I also insisted on seeing a draft of their employment contract bearing their name. I wanted a SAFEA approved contract form and if they were authorisedf to directly employ foreign teachers I wanted to know their liocence number. I also asked that he send photograohs of the school and the promised accommodation both inside and out

Within one hour I was told in a final email that "as I had no certificates to send" they could not proceed any further. Good, for I had already decided that myself.

However, I sent a sharp e-mail back to him telling him that copy documents were not necessary to make a decision as to suitability and that his conduct was at best unprofessional and that in all likelihood he was not a genuine person.

Since then nothing - if he was genuine, then I feel he would have at least defended himself - but he has simply run away

His name is Jack or Jack Long. Steer clear of this person - or anyone else dealing in vague or unspecific terms. Do not send any official documents other than your resume for there is something not right about this man
