Re: sunny english school in Hohhot and Meizhou

Hohhot is a fine city, it has western things as well as being Chinese, and with the mix of Mongolian and Hua cultures it makes it an interesting spot.

Agreed, Hohhot is really great. Wish I could say the same about the PSB there, but I can't!

I'm sure Sunny is a principled school boss, just like Sunny of Sunny's English Club of Chengdu. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they were related!

BTW, I've been in the PRC for a year or two, but I've never heard of the HUA culture. Please educate me!

Hohhot is a fine city, it has western things as well as being Chinese, and with the mix of Mongolian and Hua cultures it makes it an interesting spot. I have worked at Sunny School and can perhaps shed some light. Sunny school is a government run Kindergarten, they have 3 branches. Classes are between 20 to 40 kids ages 3 to 5/6. It is montasorri system so the teacher is given a lot of cards and props. Its not like normal teaching but more like performance. It can be quite difficult, but sometimes fun as well. It wasn't a bad job all and all and I would recommend it. I didn't like the fact that there was a lot of travel between the different schools, sometimes having to go across town only to teach like an hour or two. Sometimes classes were just too large and that was no fun. But mostly it was fine.
