I sympathize with you and I understand what you're saying very well. I bet this school will only get the bottom of the barrel teachers in the upcoming year and in future, since there're more dissatisfied foreign teachers out of there. As I have mentioned in another thread on this very same topic, I have applied for the fine "Oral Teacher" post there too. However, unlike you, I have seen the warning lights before even looking at their farce contractual agreements and that with all due respect to you. I somewhat believe that you are either a newbie or just knew to this country, but forgive my assumption on.

HEY ALL DO NOT WORK FOR ALCANTA.
They Lie about housing and you have to rent your own place.
Overtime is Monthly and unless you work your ass off you get NONE.
Mandatory overtime weekly by 1 or 2 classes, NO ONE can just do 20 it never works out that way they always get free classes out of ya.
No Medical or sick leave.
Bonus is by the Students and up to them in the end. If you leave they cut the bonus 50% or more.
No one stays there except one person they overwork and use and abuse but also can be late and other without penaltiy.
You had better not be 1 second late you lost 600
No respect or care for teacher, Chinese or foreign.
Students scoring you counts more then of they think and know you are a good teacher.
Sunday classes means many saturdays also.
Screwed Schedules and work 5 to 6 days a week. Split days and shifts.
Working Nights, English Corner and Night classes.
RIP you off on housing allowance. take taxes out.
RIP you off on Airline Ticket, if you have reciept that is NOT Chinese Taxes taken out.
I could go on.
OLD bait a Switch. Lies and Games and Deception.
BEST got University or government school and less pay but better treatment and so on... Plus work less, You can make more mopney part time come place else and a regular job that pays on time and bonuses set and so on.
STAY AWAY from ALCANTA... This is FACTS not Opinions...
Ask anyone that worked there before. Entire staff left yet AGAIN !
