Re: YUMING EDUCATION CENTER - TIANJIN

HAHAHA this post made me giggle. I must have missed this one it is quite old.

Have you been in a alcohol-induced trance or something for over a year? That would explain why you inadvertently missed that vintage post. Actually, my heart skipped a beat when I noticed your post, because I thought you were going to justify your belated reply by offering some new revelation concerning the loathsome rubbish pretend school, Yuming. Come come, Sir, you must have had more on your mind than correcting the English used in that ancient post? That was just a little titillation, No? Come on, tell us what you know! Do they still employ FT's on the basis that if classes are cancelled you get sod all? Do they still not pay for any holidays, even Chinese statutory ones? Do they still lure you in by suggesting you will earn 12,000 RMB, when in reality you will be lucky to get 3000? Do they still forbid you to reprimand students in any way? Are they still the evilest employer in Tianjin? Have a hair of that old time-stealing baijiu dog and spill the beans ,please.

Re: YUMING EDUCATION CENTER - TIANJIN

I don't understand why there is so many negative posts about the Yuming Education Center

Probably because you are in fact THE (gotta love it when people don't know how to use 'the') Yuming Education Center and as such you are defending THE Yuming Education Center. THE.... LOL!!!

Oh and a quick and simple lesson in the use of English grammar.

IS=1 ARE=2+

So using IS and MANY together helps to underline the fact that you are either a completely thick moron trying to be a teacher and failing or in fact one of the Chinglish speaking scumbags from Yuming. Either way no one is interested in what you have to say...

I was impressed with how after my airport pickup my apartment was already arranged and I was given the opportunity to quickly settle in.

You were impressed eh. So lets see if we understand this. You were impressed by the fact that the company you went to work for overseas in a country you had never been to before did a simple and standardized thing. Picked you up from the airport and took you to your prearranged apartment and let you settle in. Why what were you expecting because that my friend is exactly what you would expect, nothing to be impressed about or indeed chirp about to make the place look good.

YuMing employees were easy to contact and helpful.

TRANSCRIPT:

PHONE RINGS - (MUMBLING VOICE ANSWERS WITH POOR PRONUNCIATION AND INTONATION) NI HAO BLAH BLAH BLAH IN CHINESE - YES HELLO THIS IS (NAME) - HELLO........WHO THIS IS? - HI IT'S (NAME) - NAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMEEEE????????.......ER WHAT CAN I HELP YOU? - IS THIS HELEN? - .........SOLLY? - IS....THIS....HELEN? - YOU WANTS SPEAK TO HELEN? - YES - NAGER WHO THIS IS? - IT'S (NAME)...... I WORK FOR YOU AS A TEACHER - ............?...........YOU WANTS TO BE A TEACHER? - NO, I AM A TEACHER AND I WORK FOR YOU ALREADY, I NEED TO SPEAK TO HELEN ABOUT MY CLASSES - ..............SOLLY I NOT UNDERSTAND PLEASE SPEAKS THE SLOWLY -

You get the rest....

This is very important for any ESL company.

WOW so you do actually understand what is important and what is not then. I always wondered if Yuming were cut throat cheating bas@@@ds or if they were just useless. This helps confirm it you are just a cheating set of a-holes.

They were available with quick responses to any translation.

How can someone that cannot understand English be quick with translation questions? The only way to effectively ensure you are understood at Yuming is to speak Chinese. Yuming doesn't like it when their teachers can speak the language well or when you get a Chinese friend to translate because it means their usual excuse of misunderstanding cannot be used to screw you over.

HAHAHA this post made me giggle. I must have missed this one it is quite old.

Re: YUMING EDUCATION CENTER - TIANJIN

WOW, some people come with unreasonable expectations and soon become disillusioned. Life in China is different to life in America, not better or worse, just different. You need to immerse yourself in daily life, not stay outside looking in, learn a few phrases of Mandarin, chat to the local bike repair man or security guys; even if you can't understand each other, you will soon feel part of the local community. After a while the locals will even stop staring at you. Well, maybe not, but you can only wish. My advice to anyone thinking of teaching in China is to be really honest with yourself.

That's funny, because I have lived in China for over 5 years. I speak fluent Mandarin as well as a good comprehension of the written language, have been married into a Chinese family for 10 years, have three Chinese children and have been visiting China for the 5 years prior to moving here too, still think I have come here with unreasonable expectations?

Are you trying to say it is unreasonable to expect someone to fulfil their contractual agreements? That one should come to China and, simply because it's China, expect to be ripped off, screwed around and generally be used and treated like rap?

The Chinese are trying to portray themselves in a good way to the rest of the world and be seen as a country and a people that you want to do business with. Not a country that after being here, you leave and inform everyone that you had the worst experience of your life.

Companies like Yuming Education give China a bad name and send the wrong message. If a company, regardless of being Chinese, advertise specific facts about the terms and conditions of employment, even tell you so when asked and negotiating your contract then they should be prepared for negative comments when they do not fulfil those agreements.

If you think that is having unreasonable expectations then perhaps it is you that is disillusioned by friend, not everyone else. It is not too much to ask that the company you work for respect you and treat you fairly and decently. I suggest you take your head out of your a@@ and wake up.

I don't understand why there is so many negative posts about the Yuming Education Center. I have worked with this education center and would proudly say that they have lived up to their promises for the most part. YuMing has done a fine job of easing this transition. I was impressed with how after my airport pickup my apartment was already arranged and I was given the opportunity to quickly settle in. YuMing employees were easy to contact and helpful. This is very important for any ESL company. They were available with quick responses to any translation, transportation, or other daily life questions. I had many employees contact information and had a selection of people to contact when the others were busy.
