Re: Waiyan Recruiter:Wendy/Donicia Tieling, Liaoning

I don't know anything about that school, never worked there. But I did work in Tieling before. If you are interested in working in Tieling I would encourage you to look up Victoria House of Foreign Languages (维多利亚外语学校). Contact Wayne, he's the boss and speaks really good English. I fully trust Wayne and he is a personal friend of mine.

i thought this wasn't true but i had the same share of shits in that school... I was expecting to get my full salary and full airfare... they just gave me half after an argument.... the boss is really an asshole and the translator is really a coward.... I left that pest-infested school...the teachers there are hypocrites...............

Waiyan school in Tieling is a shady place to work, you will not be paid according to your paid salary!
I worked there after working in other schools around China and I guess I'd been lucky working everywhere else. That all changed the day I met the man running Waiyan. His name is Gao Shan. He can't speak English so he uses a translator named Wendy, she doesn't translate properly and fully as to protect her job at the school.(She told me this honestly in private) I was expecting my full salary every month like promised but there was always a little missing with the excuse that I had been late for classes. NOT true in the least! Anyway the real let down was sometime just after Spring festival when I was all finished my contract and was expecting to be done with my contract, grab my 8000+ airfare reimbursement and leave. I was called to Gao Shan's office by Wendy to have a meeting where I was told nothing in my contract mattered anymore because and I QUOTE

"Last year's contract doesn't matter, this is the new year."
My mouth dropped and after the translation I looked back at Gao Shan to see if this was some kind of big joke. Nope. With the help of some friends and family I got home when I needed to but I never forgot my experience. A year later I found work in Tieling's Neighboring and bigger city Shenyang. Where I met at least 2 other foreign teachers that'd had similar experiences with Waiyan school. I was surprised to hear that they had not posted anything warning other foreign teachers. So I'll be the first. Be careful and good luck to all of those looking for real honest work. Please know that not all schools are like this. So don't be discouraged.
