I'm going to try and contain my amazement. Someone has hit the nail on the head.

Re: RAJESH SEHGAL AND SHAOXING INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Actually Adrian recently posted and stated his real age, saying 65, so he has been quite open and honest, people have simply failed to read all of the posts on this subject.

If he had indeed done so, then why did Turnoi quote 52? Turnoi's been providing misinformation and has criticized me for having called Adrian an oldtimer. It seems he only supports those on here who have PhD's, whatever they post, coz he's got one!
All I know about this matter, by applying common sense, is that it is highly likely that Mini Sehgal is telling the truth re Adrian's age, as she would no doubt have received a scanned copy of Adrian's passport ID page from him. But Adrian has come out with bullhockey like '20000 RMB a month in China as a salary for a foreigner in the EFL industry as a DOS is chickenfeed'. Posting that kind of misinformation shows readers who is indeed the high and mighty one, namely he himself.
In addition, a successful job applicant's air ticket to China to be bought in advance by the employer is NOT and hasn't been standard practice here in China for a good few years now. If I read stuff on TB that I think isn't what's happening on the ground here, I'll contradict it appropriately, and other readers have already done likewise in this thread.
As for the F visa saga, to get an F needs paperwork from a Chinese company, no easy matter. One would have thought the easiest way would have been for a successful job applicant to get a Z in the UK, but not in Adrian's case coz he's over 59 years of age. It seems Rajesh has dropped Adrian coz he's found out the local PSB wouldn't issue Adrian a Z either, on grounds of age. But that's not to say the potential employer is blameless in this fiasco. He hadn't done his homework in a timely fashion either.

Re: RAJESH SEHGAL AND SHAOXING INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Often times it's done by the school to save some money, make things easier, or just protect their own interests.

And other times it is not even changed over at all. I speak with some experience on this, as I am currently undergoing such bullshit excuses.

Re: RAJESH SEHGAL AND SHAOXING INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

This thread should not be turned into a referendum on Adrian. This thread is and should be about a truly sleaze operation of the worst kind.

Perhaps I have a little more insight here than others as I have actually dealt with Adrian on a recruiting issue. I found him to be quite honest, albeit a bit prickly, and he hid nothing on his documents at all. When we vetted him, his references were quite, quite good. While we agreed on conditions, we could not agree on salary as he was asking about six times what the current market rates would allow. Age was not a consideration and there would have been no visa issues.

So I hope this thread returns to Zhaoxing School. My real question is what the devil is an international school doing in Zhaoxing of all places? And an international school run by an Indian or a Pakistani (when visas by the Chinese government are rarely granted to Indian and Pakistani nationals these days?)

Frankly, I feel sorry. He was the victim of a scam of some kind. Adrian, if you read this post, can you please put the website of the school? I can't find it online although I have tried.

As for the other posters, keep the message in mind please and not harm the messenger. The school is most likely an avoid.

Re: RAJESH SEHGAL AND SHAOXING INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Oldtimer, not sure what you are getting at. Sounds like you are trying to imply some form of deception about age, but Adrian actually admitted his age in one of his posts, so you're wrong there. As for the F visa, how exactly doe's this make him bad or corrupt?

You sounds rather elitist Oldtimer, because in truth everyone here knows it's quite common in many places to be asked to come on one visa and get it changed to another. Often times it's done by the school to save some money, make things easier, or just protect their own interests. You are also placing blame where blame does not belong, as the school directed him to do this. Again, many places can still get an F changed to a Z. Also, if you had read all the posts by Adrian, you would know he was coming a month before he even started "working" plenty of time to get the visa changed over.

Trying to invalidate someone on this forum by bringing up minute matters of law in a country where the law is arbitrary at best is hardly a wise decision. Different country, different rules. In this case Adrian was doing what is actually pretty routine, and certainly not out of line with what is common practice. I don't know how he shot himself in the foot, or what your vague inferences actually mean. I see a guy who was doing what he was told, and trusted someone he should not have. Agreed I would have insisted on a Z visa right out the gate, but really, let's not act like he has done anything wrong here, he has not. The F to Z deal is common and has been since I first came here and before. That it is becoming less common now doesn't change this fact. Honestly Old timer, get off your high horse, because you don't seem to be in the same reality as the rest of us in China.

Re: RAJESH SEHGAL AND SHAOXING INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Back to the point, Turnoi. Adrian is 66 according to Mini Sehgal. If it's a falsehood, why doesn't he refute it?

Agreed. Surely he would have to send a copy of his passport data page as is common practice when applying for a job in China. The truth therefore is in the details.

Re: RAJESH SEHGAL AND SHAOXING INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Back to the point, Turnoi. Adrian is 66 according to Mini Sehgal. If it's a falsehood, why doesn't he refute it? And Adrian himself wrote about applying for Chinese F visas. Somebody like him, with all his years in EFL, must be aware that teaching for money with a Chinese F visa is illegal. He could have applied for an L visa for China, but he didn't. You can back him to the hilt if you like, but I know others on here have seen through him, just like me. Half a story tells it all, and THAT'S WHAT HE HAS GIVEN US IN THE FIRST PLACE.
What's more, I note that you (conveniently?) chose to ignore the second part of my post re the F visa applications by him and his wife. Typical of you Turnoi, just like a wily politician. Adrian has SHOT HIMSELF IN THE FEET, sorry, FOOT, re posting that he had applied for an F visa, don't you think so?
