I feel sure, ZBB, that a gay little gig in South Korea wouldn't be as bad or uncertain as working for Yuming.
How I have it "on good authority" that many teachers are now avoiding China is because I'm friendly with a Chinese woman who makes a living out of finding FT's for China, so she should know-let's hope this will sound the death knell for many "crap education centres" like Yuming. This recent flurry of activity from them , posting nonsense, may well indicate that they are under pressure and wounded. We should all smell blood and redouble our efforts- Turnoi should marshal several floats of crocodiles-we should now go in for the kill.

Silverboy is right, even working at a public uni is a far better bet. I know one public uni only pays 4,000 a month, but the free apartments are excellent, any problems are fixed smoothly, and the FAO's door is always open. OK, 4k a month isn't a lot, but living costs in the place aren't high, coffee 5 rmb, beer 1-5 rmb, food also is very cheap. Do some part time work and that gig is very good, in a scenic town with friendly people.
You say you have it on good authority that many are leaving China in droves, and I am not even going to disagree with you. I myself recently left China for good, and there are far better/higher paying asian countries to go to (just not North/South Korea!).
They will only learn when they go bust!

Well said, Silverboy, public universities are a much better bet, even if the pay is only 4.500 RMB. you will certainly end up with more money in your pocket than working for Yuming.
I can't understand how so many FT's are lacking in judgement. Even if one takes the sample contract they show you as gospel(which it ain't), you should throw it straight in the bin- How can you work in a place that doesn't pay for {Chinese holidays, that doesn't pay for cancelled classes, no travel money during holidays, no air fare} and so on? It just beggars belief how anybody could think this a deal worth further consideration, let alone actually accepting. As you say, plenty of better choices in China; more so now because I have it on good authority that FT's have started avoiding China in droves, choosing other Asian countries instead. I wonder how much outfits like Yuming are to blame for putting off foreigners; they are harming not only FT's but Chinese education.
Wake up and smell the kippers chaps. Have it in your minds that when you go to China you are doing them the favour not the other way around-don't settle for a pile of shite. Most Chinese are good people, don't let a Yuming-experience cloud that fact.
