Re Yorkshire York or New York

Do you have connections in Yorkshire or in New York?

you mentioned the yorkshire ripper, the infamous and notorious:

Now you are getting nearer to my locale, but not quite on the money yet...I'll give you one pertinent clue to ponder while enjoying your cheap beers in Thailand...

And now in your best manner, can't post more, going to take daily walk by the sea to whet appetite for grilled fish and fine white wine, at one of the many nice restaurants on the Costa Blanca

Happy weekend.

Aside from the post by claudus Mcduff who worked at the school the only bad press comes from people that have never worked at York , no nothing specifically about York or have ever been to York.
All these people that talk about the crap training schools obviously have a hate on for training schools china wide and will cast dispersion on any training school mentioned on this site. Propsie asked a simple question was given an answer from people that worked at that school and yet the defenders of the ESL industry decided to voice their opinion even though they have no intimate knowledge about the school itself.
As far as how many languages they have taught in the past i really do not know as i do not work there but i have heard in the past that they have had Spanish teachers as well as French teachers, but i am not 100 percent certain of that.

I will not lump all training schools into one basket because that is just not useful or realistic.

I don't get your drift- we have Turnoi, Silverboy,CunninLynguist,Turino,Malicious Rumour person, TL and others referring to all the crap training centres/pretend schools, why start mentioning the good ones- it seems to be you who wants to enlist the support of the good ones, who never get a mention on this site. Leave the good ones out of it, they can take care of themselves. "CRAP TRAINING CENTRES" only refers to crap training centres. Why don't you take the trouble to read this thread and posts of FT's who have worked at York School? You will then clearly see why you get so much bad press.

You didn't answer when I asked you how many languages you teach at York School of Foreign Languages????? A name is important if it's being used to con. Which are the other languages you teach?

Re Yorkshire York or New York

I have no idea how they decided upon the name York, it is possible they have a Mr. York or possibly they named it after The City of York, Pennsylvania. I truly do not know nor do I feel it is important. Not after comparing it to the abuse suffered here at the hands of some posts. Calling Brad,Tom and others that have posted here in favour of the school GW's, goons and the like is unfounded and spiteful.
I am the Kevin that does not support attacking a place when there is no real factual evidence of its failed attempt at being a good place to work at. If a school mistreats its employees or does things to offend I am for putting it on the net and warning new teachers. I have seen some of the horror stories that teachers have experienced and applaud their efforts to warn others. I will not lump all training schools into one basket because that is just not useful or realistic.

"You make this statement yet give absolutely no evidence to support it.
By improving the quality of the classes they are able to gain more students which means more money. The parents are becoming educated consumers and are realizing which fly by night schools offer crap and which don't. You want crappy training schools to close down and they will but not by your harrassing the teachers that work there. They will close down when the parents see they are not getting what they are paying for."

I was just wondering Kevin Dear Boy- New York took its name from York in Yorkshire which is fair enough. How did you name your school? Do you have connections in Yorkshire or in New York? Or did the name just sound good over a baijiu or two. Generally speaking the names of schools and centres in China are designed to trick, like Oxford & Cambridge Centers- now CENTER is a valid way of spelling centre but certainly not linked to Oxford or Cambridge. Do you have a Mr York perhaps? I see you teach more than one language, what are these languages and which of them do you teach? Do you have an office in York?

There are thousands of bad English Language teaching businesses in China but it's only the worst of the very worst that attract the same attention and criticism as York School, if that's not evidence that you are pretty grim, I don't know what would be. I say you... but are you not the same Kevin who supports that terrible YUMING place in Tianjin? Maybe if you were a solicitor you would campaign for the release of the Yorkshire Ripper on the grounds of insufficient evidence.

I am in the business and will continue to offer quality teaching and if the place I work at does not agree then I will go to one that does. As I have in the past. I refuse to be a foreign monkey merely there to entertain the children and i believe all foreign teachers should do that. I have personally seen changes within the schools here that show a positive growth in the right direction. You most likely will not believe this and really there is nothing at all i can do to change your mind but I would suggest instead of being part of the problem be part of the solution.
A training school cannot operate if they have no teachers, which gives the power to the teachers and allows them to decide what kind of classes they will work in. As long as they realize the supply of foreign teachers does not meet the demand teachers can dictate what does happen. That is a fact
