I'm not going to touch on all you mentioned, but I will just say a couple of things.

I just re-read my contract, and NOWHERE does it mention being fined for being late to class! Naturally, skipping classes can incur a deduction from pay, but that would be standard contract clause (with relevant medical illness type stuff mentioned as well). Now, while that's what the contract says, what emails get circulated is a different matter....

Yeah, 'scolding' students is fine. I've done it myself I didn't say it wasn't.... As I said, I kick students out

A university that won't pay ALL utilities is.... standard! I've been told it was changed because some FT's would go away during the holidays and left their a/c on.... so, to me, it would be a natural reaction. But, as I look through the job boards, most jobs may advertise accommodation, few say they will pay electricity...

What Stan was referring to with 'relationships' with students, isn't the 'professional' relationship. Nor even just a good platonic relationship....
