Re: YUMING EDUCATION CENTER - locations

Excellent foreign teachers thrive working for Yuming. If you're active, knowledgable, alert, and entertaining in class, you've nothing to fear at Yuming.
The foreigners complaining about Yuming are bad teachers who cannot inspire their students, causing Yuming to cast them aside. On account of this, they seek vengeance by giving the company a bad name online by means of outright lies. They'd be better to look closely at their own failings as teachers than to blame the company.
YUMING IS GREAT FOR GREAT TEACHERS, THAT'S THE TRUTH, BELIEVE ME!

I'd sooner look more closely at the fact you are not a native English speaker and point out all the flaws in your post. Over use and misuse of commas and punctuation. "Than to blame" should be "as opposed to blaming" and even without the grammatical failings has anyone else noticed how "non native" the way the post has been written. A native English speaker just wouldn't talk this way:

The foreigners

YUMING IS GREAT FOR GREAT TEACHERS, THATS THE TRUTH, BELIEVE ME!

Those stand out a mile for a start but the whole thing in its entirety just says NOT ENGLISH!!

Plus, as has been pointed out already, there are no follow-up comments made by the poster just like every other post here and elsewhere from so called teachers praising Yuming.

What Helen, Amy or Caroline fail to realise is that whilst they keep stating people are spreading lies most of what people have posted is easily provable if the reader wants to find out.

Lets use the following as an example. National holidays for schools in China are over 2 months. You can check this out with any school, any teacher and the authorities. Yuming however list the school holidays for the Summer period as 4 to 6 weeks which is significantly less. Plus you can ask any teacher in China on any forum what to expect as far as the length of time a teacher will not be required during this period. They will all tell you the same thing. FT's are not required for a period of time just prior to and just after the children are on holiday making the FT's time off significantly longer than the official national holiday. No lies that is simply something called FACT!!!

Yuming have been/are/continue to be THE WORST teacher recruitment company in Tianjin. Have earned the extremely bad reputation they have and deserve all the bad press, loss of business and failure to recruit new teachers that they get. They are very well known throughout the expat community in the city and any teacher who has not just stepped off the plane still green knows to stay well away from this horrible excuse for a company.

Yuming will NEVER do what is required to be a reputable company and even if they were to try it is too little too late. A bad reputation is not something which can be shaken off or hidden from. Even if they were to change names and start over people would find out who they were and their reputation would catch back up with them in no time.

It doesn't matter how many times they make empty threats on the internet, how many years have they been taking legal action now??? How many fake FT posts they make defending the school, people can smell the BS a mile away. The only people they are deluding are themselves. Yuming are in trouble. They have screwed around far too many people for far too long and you can only do that for so long before the word is out. They have lost business with schools for their unprofessionalism, are struggling to find places to advertise where follow-up comments are not posted slating them and/or having their ads removed and as such are also struggling to hire enough teachers year in year out to cover their portfolio.

It is not a matter of "if" Yuming will bite the dust it is simply a matter of "when". And in my opinion and based on the sheer amount of chatter about them both in the community and online my guess is not long.

Re: YUMING EDUCATION CENTER - locations

Well Well Well what a surprise this is. Yet another one post wonder visits the board unable to come back and comment.

I knew it was yet another post from the infamous poe faced Helen or one of her cronies. The only reason it is not in Chinglish is because she now gets a teacher to proof it for her before she posts it up.

Saying that though that last sentence in capitals is suspect anyway.

"YUMING IS GREAT FOR GREAT TEACHERS, THAT'S THE TRUTH, BELIEVE ME!"

Sounds suspiciously Chinese to me. Our Great School, Don't say bad things about our great school. Heard that many times over to know it is not the kind of thing a Western teacher would say.

Yunming does not need any character assassination from any FT'S. They do a fantastic job of destroying their brand, image, and reputation all by themselves.

Re: YUMING EDUCATION CENTER - locations

You know, three days have passed since you made your glorious statement about the great and almighty Yuming. If you were a real teacher then you would have most certainly, after going to the trouble of making the post in the first place been back here to read any follow-up comments and then answer them.

As predicted you are just another one post wonder that doesn't really exist. Yet another pre planned script written out for Helen to post up with no intention of making any further statements whatsoever.

I'd say nice try Helen but it wasn't and as you know, we don't engage in theory or lies.

Re: YUMING EDUCATION CENTER - locations

Oh and something else that needs saying while I think about it too.

The fact that Yuming have chosen to reword certain statements of the job description on their website, twice now, since people began talking about it online also goes to show the fact that they know [edited] damn well it was incorrect and misleading information in the first place.

Of course in the typical manner of saving face and not being seen to have done anything wrong they bollock people online and threaten them while at the same time attempt to sneakily reword some of the things people have complained about in the first place.

Re: YUMING EDUCATION CENTER - locations

So perhaps Yuming should consider doing something about the vicious and untrue slander I have been spreading about them and take me to court then. Thing is, they won't. They won't because nothing I have said is untrue. I know it, others know it and more importantly they damn well know it too.

Lets put a few things into context here in light of your post and review Yumings Greatness:

Lauren/Canada - Attempted to fire from her job after "allegedly" being accused of hitting a student. After contacting the school and being told that they knew nothing about the matter but had informed Yuming that they no longer required two FT's things started to make sense. She threatened to involve the authorities over the matter and Yumings balls shrunk.

Arron/US - Was left in the position of having no work for 3 months during the Summer holidays and, to enable him to continue paying his rent and actually live decided to freelance teach. Upon visiting his residential area with a new teacher Helen saw one of his business cards and recognised the mobile number and name on it. He was fired and Helen attempted to cause trouble by visiting the local police station in that area. Unfortunately for her it failed as he was teaching the son of the officer in charge of that station and they had become good friends. She was told to FUCK OFF!!!

Robbie/UK - WOrked there for 12 months and at the end of this contract decided to move on and seek employment elsewhere. To do so without having to leave China and start the Visa process from the very beginning requires the current employer to complete a document at the PSB releasing the employee and enabling them to transfer employers. Yuming flat refused to do this and as such he was unable to begin working for a new employer without travelling back to his home country and starting the entire Visa process off again from the beginning. He was therefore forced to be separated from his wife and new born son for a significant length of time until the situation could be sorted out. The situation was rectified after legal action was taken in the labour courts against Yuming, by that time however the easiest course of action for him was to simply start over.

Jason/UK - Worked at Yuming and was fired for complaining about the situation over lengthy holiday periods he was not informed about. Yuming were friends with the landlord of the apartment he was living at and he suddenly found himself evicted for no good reason.

Colin/UK - Had his Visa cancelled by Yuming but they failed to inform him about it. He also had complained about the conditions of employment not being the same as when taking the job and was fired. He should have really enquired about his Visa situation instead of staying on in China and working elsewhere but it still doesn't change the fact that Yuming shit down his back.

Jess/Canada - Was completely fed up with the conditions of his employment not being the same as when taking the job. Luckily for him he told them he was returning to his home country at the end of the contract and did just that. What Yuming do not know however is that he went home for a holiday and then returned a few weeks later to begin a new job with a new Visa.

Mark/Canada - Same situation, told one thing upon taking the job only to find things were completely different after starting. DId the same thing after being given some helpful advice and told them he was going home but returned afterwards to a new job.

2 Girls/Canada (sorry dunno their names - Mark told me all about them - this was at the end of 2010) Came to work for Yuming and were left in a hotel until their apartment was ready. After a few days they were driven for about 2 hours to the outskirts of Tianjin to a run down craphole with no running water or any fully working facilities. They told Helen they did not want to stay there and she agreed to take them back to their hotel until they could arrange a better place to live. Days past and there was no contact. They rang Yuming and got no answer so walked down to the office. Upon speaking to them they were informed that because they did not like the apartment they had been given Yuming would NOT be helping them any further. They were told they would have to pay for the hotel themselves and basically Yuming had washed their hands of them. They had to return to Canada and start again.

Eric/US - Was employed and had intended to renew his contract and Visa with Yuming so gave in his passport and waited for it to be completed. Weeks past and he didn't get it back so started asking. He was given various excuses as to what was going on, all blaming the PSB for the delay. Eventually he required his passport to travel so demanded they found out what was happening. He got it back, there was no new Visa inside. When he questioned this he was told sorry but we are not going to renew your contract so we have not renewed your Visa. His current Visa had expired and he was fined upon attending a PSB interview.

I could go on quoting details of various teachers who have worked there since 2008 but I trust my point is clear. So lets move on to state a few facts which people can actually look into themselves.

Go to Yumings website and look at the FAQ: Heres the link for your convenience:

http://www.teachintianjin.com/contract.htm

Read first the bottom of that page where it discusses holidays and pay particular attention to the length of those holidays. Now things to remember are they have again modified the wording, however I have screenshots of the wording as it was for the last few years and am happy to post those up. It used to state 4 to 6 weeks which is bollocks the holidays are in fact 2 and 3 months making a grand total of 5 months holiday. Then you have to add to that the Chinese national holidays and any times when classes are cancelled due to a trip to the zoo or a museum taking that total to somewhere in the region of 6 months.

This would not be all bad if Yuming actually had, as they state on the website, that you can continue at your normal rate of pay one one of their Summer or Winter language camps. Unfortunately they don't have any language camps but have perhaps a couple of classes here and their which doesn't help anyone at all. I know this is still the case today as even this Summer I have run into teachers taking part time employment where I work who are doing so because they have no work from Yuming.

If Yuming knew they were doing this, as stated in their contract, they would be fired on the spot because Yumings management are completely paranoid about any of their "teaching secrets" being used elsewhere or their staff being lured into a new job. Teaching secrets!!!!! Like Yuming actually have any. Just some crappy books procured elsewhere and a tissuepaper thin booklet with some badly written Chinglish teaching plans which no-one would ever use anyway.

They also mention the fact they give health insurance. Has anyone actually signed an insurance document??? I never did, nor has anyone else I have asked about it. The only health related matter is the initial mandatory health check which takes place on arrival as part of the immigration process.

Yuming also do not give their teachers the foreign expert certificate. A little black passport looking type book which is a requirement for immigrants to carry in China. They keep these safely locked away in their possession as they can get money back when they hand them in, use it to get discounts on certain goods and also it is much easier to cancel your stay in China if they have this.

ASK YOURSELF ONE QUESTION HAPPY TEACHER.... DO YOU HAVE YOUR FOREIGN EXPERTS CERTIFICATE BOOK?? I KNOW THE ANSWER AND THAT ANSWER IS NO!!!! o_O

Most people who have worked for Yuming were generally happy at the time. But as time went along they found out one thing after another, like for example the holiday saga and then decided they needed to find a job elsewhere. It is at that point that Yuming shows its teeth and they fuck over the FT.

Tell your scabby bosses, because I know that they know exactly who I am, to start legal proceedings against me asap. I implore them to do so.

Listen buddy, you are just the same as I was when I worked there. Letting one thing after another go and telling yourself everything is ok. Yes the schools I worked in were nice places and the students were great!!! This is not about the schools they supply to, or the girls that work there who were/are also very pleasant. This is about what will happen to you if you question the fact you aint working and cant support yourself during the holidays and what will happen to you if you do anything bar go home when you leave.

The only one who ever left their unscathed is that GW Peter, who has just been mentioned by Paul. He spied on teachers and fed the info back to his masters like a faithful dog.

I pity you if you stay there and you will be back in the future with your own horror story.

Re: YUMING EDUCATION CENTER - locations

Negative posts by screwed over teachers now working elsewhere, happily and feeling valued run into double figures.

Positive posts by happy teachers working at Yuming shunning said negativity don't.

DO THE MATH!!!

And of those positive comments there is something else to look at. Many are written in Chinglish and are quite clearly written by Yuming themselves, not actual teachers.

You know what I am talking about, things like: "I is very happy with the Yuming" "They are never lie to me"

If Yuming has so many happy FT's wishing to express their positive feelings about the place then why do Yuming have to make fake posts? They should have no problem getting real teachers to post online abou their positive experience.

I actually count approximately four posts including the one just posted which actually appear to have been written by someone who can speak English correctly but another interesting fact about that is on one site the admin pointed out that three of the posts appeared seconds after one another all from the exact same IP and a geographical location close to Pukou Dao where their offices are. Most of those posts appear over and over again like spam on each and every board and to date there has never actually been a follow up response from ANY of the posters, just a single initial comment defending Yuming and then they are never heard from again.

Just once I would like to actually see a real human being come back and have a discussion, responding to follow-up comments and answering questions. When I see things posted up in the manner they have been so far then I simply have to assume that Yuming have asked an FT to proof their own post and/or write something grammatically correct on paper for them which they can then post online.

So as per usual I ask the poster to respond.

How long have you worked at Yuming?

Where is your foreign experts certificate?

Where is your health insurance?

I know Yuming still do not have any work for teachers during the holidays as I saw an FT only a couple of weeks ago who is working part-time elsewhere during the holidays to survive so before you come back and lie about the situation, be honest. Exactly what are you doing to make ends meet during the holidays and do Yuming know?

How many FT's currently in the employ of Yuming have you met or do they still arrange individual meetings with teachers at their offices and try to ensure that when you attend you are the only FT there at the time?

Perhaps, considering you are so adamant to defend your "great" school you could blow our accusations out of the water and post up a scan of your insurance policy, your contract, your foreign experts certificate and your bank statement (editing any sensitive info out of course) proving your statements true. After all, your bank statement will clearly show regular monthly deposits covering the holiday periods proving that Yuming have been paying you during the holidays and provided you with work.

Your Foreign experts certificate will show details in Chinese of your employer.

Your insurance policy will again prove they took one out for you and your contract will also go a long way to giving you credibility.

Something tells me however, the other couple of seemingly Ft written posts that this will be your one and only post and we will never see or hear from you again all bar seeing the exact same post appear everywhere else anyone talks about Yuming.

I am smiling now because I have it on very good word that it is all a matter of time. Really. No need to waste your time typing alerts about them. It is being handled in a rather large way. :D

In fact going further it is worth pointing out that this guy pisses people off virtually every single time he says anything on Tianjinexpats, just have a look through some of the threads he has posted in. Most of them involve him making some stupid remark and angering the community over there, he has done a fine job of alienating himself as well as being one of the most hated and despised people there.

He is the perfect example of what you guys here refer to as a grovelling weasel in fact I would go as far as to say his picture should be in the dictionary next to the term.

Complete asshole who no-one should trust.

Re: YUMING EDUCATION CENTER - locations

Something worth mentioning in regard to Yuming. After thwarting their attempts at posting ads on Tianjinexpats yet again. Two ads appear posted by a guy called Peter Morris on that site which are virtually identical to Yumings.

This guy was an FT at Yuming quite some time ago. Upon commenting on Yuming on that website people were met with an argument from this person who defended Yuming calling their attempt to discredit them a hatchet job.

I personally believe he must have some connection with the management there and I also remember being warned by someone working there called Jason about another FT by the name of Peter who was not to be trusted in any way as he used to find things out from Ft's and then pass the info back to Helen and Amy.

I posted up a comment on his ads which basically read....

Needs mentioning. This ad sounds suspiciously like an ad for Yuming education.

If it is then people need to read the following thread:

http://www.eslteachersboard.com/cgi-bin/review/index.pl?read=37527

If it is not then please disregard.

No sooner did I post comments I received a load of profanity via PM from him and he quickly got the admin to remove the comments. If these ads were in no way connected to Yuming then why the swift removal of the comments and why all the agro. He could have simply posted another follow up comment stating no dont worry, it is not Yuming and anyone enquiring would have found that out when they called.

What this says to me is that these ads are indeed for Yuming and they have contacted him after being unable to post themselves anymore, the timing is also impecable.

Go to another board -
