The list of locations below, updated from the previous post, includes where I've taught with the wrong visa type for at least a semester, or was offered the chance to do so, or where I know for sure other foreigners have taught with the wrong visa type, and got away with it too. Locations in bold are those where the employer/ prospective employer is in the private sector, but not a language mill. The other locations are where the employer/prospective employer is in the public sector. The visa types are F, L and X:
Guangxi - Nanning
Hebei - Handan, Hengshui and Shijiazhuang
Heilongjiang - Hegang and Jixi
Henan - Zhumadian
Hunan, Xiangtan
Inner Mongolia - Baotou and Hohhot/Hohhot
Jilin - Changchun
Shaanxi - Xi'an
Shandong - Jinan, Linyi and Shijiazhuang
Shanxi - Hejin, Jishan, Linfen, Ruicheng, Taiyuan/Taiyuan, Wenxi, Yangcheng, Yongji, and Yuncheng/Yuncheng
Sichuan - Deyang, Hejiang, Luxian, Luzhou and Mianyang

Re: China: Wrong Visa Type Okay, updated

If caught working in Beijing without a work visa, you will be fined a paltry 500/1000 RMB! But you must leave the country within 10 days or so. However, you needn't go back to your country of origin to obtain your new L visa before returning. You can go to a 3rd party country on China's borders. A Chinese visa office in that country can issue you a new single-entry Chinese L visa. Kill two birds with one stone by vacationing there - call it a working holiday, working on getting your new Chinese visa...LOL! After that, return to China. Been there, dunnit! Compared to the visa violation penalties in other countries, China's penalties are very very reasonable if you have some cash. Then you can buy yourself out of trouble relatively cheaply. But in contrast, if you're unable to do so, you'll be put behind bars! That doesn't bear thinking about!

not according to the Foreign Experts Bureau. It is my understanding that ONLY 1 visa is for working that is a Z visa.
