Re: Dalian Ealing International College

"Our external teachers are NOT overworked" - This is not the case. As someone who has been a teacher at Ealing, I can say that I worked a bare minimum of 54 hours per week. I had to commute two hours a day and worked six days a week.

"We have a monthly meeting for 2 hours" There is no monthly meeting.

"They have a maximum of 5 office hours a week" - Outright lie.

"their salary is set to the current market" - Ealing states on their contracts that they pay 4,000 per month. They state that a teacher will actually receive 10,000 or their agreed upon salary, but will not print this on the contract for "tax reasons". This makes teachers at Ealing very vulnerable to exploitation.

Re: Dalian Ealing International College

Our teachers come in all shape and sizes but not nationalities. We employ Brits, Americans, Canadians, some New Zealanders and more and they all have various accents but we supply them with valid Z visas. If not then we could not work with Queensland Government as an example of one of our Foundation programs. We are vetted, yes vetted by them and as such offer course…. Someone made a remark about Edxecel being like McDonalds. We work to the requirements of the Education Systems and deliver course that reflect that system. We use qualified teachers to do this….

Our external teachers are NOT overworked, well unless you think 25 classes of 35/45 minutes is overworked. They have a maximum of 5 office hours a week and their salary is set to the current market. We have never said we pay the highest salary and teachers are free after this. We have a monthly meeting for 2 hours and a simple report a month is all that is asked.

Farm outs? We do use teachers, backed by the Government, to work in Middle Schools BUT this is part of a service we offer. These teachers know all this upfront as we have external and internal teaching packages. A choice and generally teachers are happy to have a choice. Of course packages differ but then that happens in all walks of business….

Our housing policy offers a choice of shared and private accommodation. It's the teachers’ decision and the allowance is plenty to cover these costs…. It won't get you a mansion but it will give you a nice livable life…

We try to offer as many choices as we can BUT once again we can't cover every issue and sometimes challenges are there……
