I work for Meten. Yes the health insurance is real, But it won't cover you for major things like death, giving birth or major surgery. It's just for basic stuff like cold, flu and a small cut that needs a few stitches. If you have travel insurance options I would suggest signing up for it, after we all read about the young America guy that had no insurance and died at DD Dragon school and school never gave a cent to help him, so now the family has to pay $12,818.00 they don't have to send the body home to the U.S. So we should all get travel health insurance.

Oh never worry about the cost of visiting the hospital here in China, a good hospital would only cost you $15.00 for a check up, blood test and medicine. That's without insurance.
