Um, perhaps I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure I'm not. There is no place in Mexico which has 95% humidity. And at 100%, you would essentially be swimming in a pool. So if you want to complain about a person or school, okay. But let's not exaggerate topics, like the weather, which are clearly not exaggeratable.
As for what you had to say, if the newbie does their homework and reads the appropriate websites about teaching English in Mexico and what the typical offer is, then being promised the world will easily be transparent. In addition, one can always ask for references. If they are refused, it's a dead giveaway that the school isn't what it's being made to appear as. And in addition to that, visas don't take 4 months. Accepting your boss's excuses for so long was dumb.
I usually do not write in blogs, but I saw a school advertising for teachers and I must warn unsuspecting teachers. ABC MEXICO is run by a man who will promise you the world and give you almost nouthing. They do offer $80 pesos an hour, but, if a class is canceled even just a minute, before the class you will not be paid for the class and this happens all the time especially company classes. The free accomadation is in a house with broken windows taped up. The houses electrical system works sometimes, but it can go out at any minute even when your on a Skype call. The city of Poza Rica is a polluted mess with humidity most of the time over 95 to 100% with high temperatures as well. THE OWNER WILL PROMISE TO GET YOU YOUR FM-3 VISA AND WILL EVEN TAKE YOUR PAPERWORK, BUT YOU COULD WAIT MONTHS TO GET YOUR VISA, IF EVER. I GAVE HIM MY PAPERWORK AND WAITED FOUR MONTHS WITH MORE AND MORE EXCUSES, BEFORE I RESIGNED. I am now working for an ethical language school and I have my FM-3 without having to wait months.
