They constantly break the law here and take second jobs in violation of their contracts. They they cry "poor" and want sympathy from other foreigners because they pretend they have no money. Seen it all before!

I agree it is very common in China.

I saw the remittance slips from a filipina teacher at a college I worked at, which she left behind in her old apartment. They were for practically all her monthly salary from that college, which of course, came as no surprise, because she obviously had a part time job. Factor in a chinese husband taking care of her, and the poverty defense line is pathetic....
