For an experienced teacher, a demo class shouldn't ever be a problem, surely?!

But in China it can be a problem! The trouble is the assessors themselves. In some cases, they aren't qualified to be assessors of teachers and teaching. And neither are many of the Chinese students. In my view, they are too immature to be given the task of assessing their teachers, which indeed they are expected to do by a Chinese school's director.
