Re: A WARNING FOR NEW TEACHERS USING THIS BOARD

in a real world your words are fantastic ! However, just last week I had a conversation with the vice dean of the English department. I had inquired why does the senior foreign teacher, the FAO and the law department PROFOUNDLY advise me not to fail students ? His comment was - enrollment is down ! Next question was, would you send your son or daughter to this college ? Yea you got it , NO WAY -- diploma mill ! Therefore, the newbies make your first job in China at a level 1 or level 2 university.. EG Peking University in Beijing level 1 - Sun Yet Sen in Guangzhou high level 2 --- ETC ETC ETC

Re: A WARNING FOR NEW TEACHERS USING THIS BOARD

Not "some" but many schools are poorly operated and mostly care about profit on mainland China. They routinely misevaluate their students, employees, the teachers. They routinely misadvertise, set unreasonable goals and compromise teachers' positions. I agree with you that the board's posters jump with their negativity unnecessarily and that especially when they do not know about the employers; however, if you come here to wrongly generalize or say that the warnings about poorly managed Chinese educational system do not help, you are so wrong. Bitterness appears when an employer encounters troubles recruiting and that is one of the main reasons where the eslteachersboard may help to improve the system and the terms and conditions of teachers.

Cheers and beers
