Why should anyone feel sorry for Western women in China? I don't have any sympathy for them. Most of them are arrogant, stuck up, ugly, and generally undesirable. They know they will be ignored in China, so why do they move to China?

No laowai man is going to settle for a second-rate Western girl when they have thousands, make that millions of Chinese women to choose from.

Bit hard on the sisters there mate. I worked with several really good Western women in China. One is one of my best all-time friends. I've even seen some rather attractive ones. I've also seen some Western men that were pretty shabby specimens. Gotta get past people's gender and race to get at the real person that matters in the world. Sometimes after being in Asia so long, it may be hard to look at ANY Western woman, even a model, and not see her as kind of alien and different. Her hair is the wrong color and texture. She's got the wrong shape. She's weird. She seems like a sister or mother, and benignly asexual, as compared to the very different Chinese women. Yes? And, after being in China a long time one may find that one prefers whiter skin on Chinese women, because one has internalized Chinese standards of beauty as well. That's when one may have been in Asia too long.

Let's not forget those Western women are our female counterparts, and have a lot more in common with us than do the Chinese women, generally speaking. If you'd been born a woman, you'd be the object of your own derision. So, please, cut the sisters some slack. We're no better than they are, it's just that in China the scales are tipped enormously to our advantage. Let's not let it go to our heads and think it's because WE are intrinsically so much better. It's just that men have a lot of advantages in a patriarchal, developing country like China. One could quietly take advantage of that (or, not), but shouting from rooftops that one can have millions of Chinese women, and that one is God's gift of sex to liberate Chinese women sexually, and that Western women are fat pigs is probably going a little too far.

Sometimes I have a whim to be nice to people, even if they are kinda' jerky. I will usually act on this. It's always better to be a little nicer, at least to people who aren't "above" you and trying to screw you over (they should be the real object of one's ire). So, it couldn't hurt to be a little nicer to one's female counterparts in China. Those Western women are just you with boobs.
