I worked at Kids Club Daebang in 2001-2002 - does it still exist? I see that Dave wrote in 2012, so I am hopeful. Can anyone give me contact info for the LCI Daebang school if it is still in operation? The phone number I have is no longer active. I am going back and would love to contact them. Thanks!

I worked there from 2009 to 2012 and never had any problems like that. Yes, I stayed 3 years. For a hagwon, that's unheard of. This is a good school.

So sorry, Gretchen, but certainly not surprised to read of your experience in Korea!
Korea and China are nightmare countries for employment for foreign teachers. I'm in China and there seems to be little or no professional ethics or integrity here; just lots of self-serving people who will cheat and lie and deceive to get whatever they need. Shameless treatment of employees, be they native or foreign.
This school is located in central Seoul. I worked here for 4 months and needed to get out of the contract and adhered to contract, giving 6 weeks notice. According to the contract I should pay back my initial airfare- ok fair enough. When working in Korea, you must give the school your banking details such as account number, therefore the school has access to your account for direct deposit purposes. But in my case the school withdrew additional money from my account for "expenses." They couldn't clearly describe what the money was for but the sum was over $1000.00 US. They refused to pay the money back to me. Also there were always problems with the salary, extra bills getting added on, the wrong bills, not paying you for all working days, etc. I would highly recommend not working at this school.
