Re: VIP China, Nanchang Office, REPUTABLE?

Even if the job was ok, the city is not. It is polluted, and the weather in winter is terrible. There is NOTHING to do for a westerner.

You'll thank me for staying away, trust me!

Re: VIP China, Nanchang Office, REPUTABLE?

Thanks for your input. As a result of that, I won't bother replying to VIP in Nanchang. It sounds like a bad area in which to live and work. Besides, I would probably be offered a bad financial package as their initial contract is only for four months!

Hi Moniker,
Aside from your monthly salary, and perks such as air fare allowance and holiday travel allowance, it's perhaps of more importance to ascertain if the teaching assistance will be rendered as on teaching assistant to accompany you to each of your classes or the subject teacher of each class will act as your teaching assistant when you teach his (or her) class. The former arrangement is much the better one, for obvious reasons.
Your total employment package for 4 months of teaching should add up to 28,000 RMB for a teaching load of 16 classes/week; for 20/week, it shouldn't be < 32,000 RMB; for 22/week, it shouldn't be < 34,000 RMB.

VIP China, Nanchang Office, REPUTABLE?

Dear +++++++++++++++,

This is Ruby from VIP China, Nanchang office. We have learned your information from the internet, learning that
you are finding a job currently, and we can provide you a teaching position in China's kindergarten,elementary, middle schools or colleges for next semester, about February,2013. Does it fit your plan? I think this is also a good opportunity for you to travel in China and experience Chinese culture, hoping you will be interested.

This is our information. We are The Volunteer Intercultural Project (VIP China), which represents China's public schools to recruit oral English teacher from abroad, is run by the National Oral English Teaching & Research Bureau, and is the only agency authorized by the Chinese education system to place foreign English teachers. We are located in Beijing, China, and our mission is to advance the English communication skills of middle school students throughout China. We have been doing this program for almost 4 years and successfully cooperated with many schools nationwide. What's more, we’ve placed more than 1000 teachers of English speakers from all over the world in our partner schools. Half of our teachers are from native English countries, such as the USA, Canada, Australia, UK, New Zealand, South Africa etc.

We are now recruiting foreign teachers for public middle school students in February, 2013. Normally, the coming semester starts at the beginning of Feb and ends at the end of June. You will teach no more than 22 classes per week and each class lasts 45minutes; besides, you will enjoy weenkends and holidays. Will this fit your plan? Regarding the duration, it is about one semester, approximately 4 months. If the school is good fit for you and very happy with your performance, I am pretty sure you could renew the contract. Of course, you could also choose some other high school after the coming semester is over. Actually, teaching Oral English in China is very easy and enjoyable, and will allow you to be immersed in a Chinese community, providing a unique opportunity to explore this great country. If you have ever taught in China, I think you would feel the same way. You will not have disciplinary or grading responsibilities, it is delightful.

The school will provide free accommodation for foreign teachers the well-decorated accommodation include private kitchen and bathroom, TV set, desk, chairs, sofa, computer with Internet ADSL connection, kitchen utilities and so on. And the school ensures that all the facilities are ready for use when you move in.About meals, you may cook by yourself if you like or you can eat with other teachers in schools'cafeteria. What's more, you will have an assistant teacher to help you get accustomed to the local environment. People there are friendly to foreign teachers, so don't worry. They will help you in work and life. I hope you will like it.

If you are interested, would you pls send your resume and picture or other documents to us, In addition, forward you the pictures of our school. If there is anything else that we can do for you, please do not hesitate to let us know. We are looking forward to your prompt reply!

Best Regards,
Ruby
