Re: Beware Beijing Huijia Private School

I hope I did more than suggest it is vulgar. Using such words normally indicates a small vocabulary of words to call upon. It is hoped that we foreign teachers can call upon many many words and expressions.

Absolutely, my good man. However, in the PRC we foreign teachers comprise too many unqualified foreign teachers including non-native speakers of English, many of whom have limited vocabulary at their disposal.

For example, the word crap is used all too often on this board. 'Crappy' would be better English in its adjectival form than 'crap' would be. However, there is also a problem with many FTs' grammar in the PRC, as there is also with their spelling and punctuation. Lack of synonyms is oftentimes apparent too, but there are some such available for 'crappy', such as shonky and lousy, the former of which is better English in my view.
