I'm going to say immediately that I agree with a considerable amount of what you've said. All failings considered, the school functions as a safe haven -- especially for those who are not flexible enough where they can actually leave China. In fact, only one teacher who ran and all things considered should have returned didn't. But more than enough teachers have left Bai Da Wei and haven't come back, even those who haven't left China. The only people saying this school is truly horrible are either the original poster, who I have no idea why they haven't left, and one of the idiots posting here who is not associated with the school in any way.
Let's be clear - the school isn't really a "training centre" and you could stand to do worse.
But to the poster above me, with all due respect, clearly you have no idea why people are upset. You should ask them, because this anger has been increasing well before these demo classes, and if it were only demo classes people were upset about then I highly doubt people would be petty enough to post here. When was the last time anybody did? Years ago.
it's fine enough to say that the school isn't the worst. The school may of may not make me angry, but your dismissive and condescending attitude certainly gets closer. Every point raised hitherto has been valid and it's foolish to obscure them with pet theories. My greatest fear is that management will take the same attitude, pat themselves on the back and reassure themselves the people speaking out are merely entitled.
If the school wants to sell itself as this western-run school, then it should be willing to hold itself to higher standards and strive to improve, without resorting to "at least we're not so and so school!" Those are my "two cents".

I've been reading through these posts for the past few days, and I've got to put in my 2 cents.
First, BDW is in NO way a perfect company or school to work for. I can say that I have had issues during the coarse of my contract while working here, but every time I've had an issue I immediately brought it up to management, in a professional mannor, and we sat down discussed the issues and moved on with out lives after coming to a resolution. I feel alot of the teachers posting on here are just upset because recently we've had to work 'demo' classes to fill up the rest of our contractually obliged hours. It does suck having to work an extra hour out of my 20 hour week, but really it's not worth causing this giant shit storm. The majority of people working with me are kids. fresh out of college and don't know what it means to really work. Do you really want to listen to the opinion of someone like that? They would complain about having to do anything beyond the scope of their "regular schedule" and don't understand that ALL JOBS IN THE WORLD have shit, and things you don't want to do.
Second, Not sure how you get the crappy training center stuff, but plenty of our students have moved to amazing things in life after going to BDW. Most recently one of our students actually moved on to compete in Beijing and placed in 2nd. We allow parents to watch EVERY single class if they like to give feedback and also have outside training to help our new and old teachers. Now yes, sometimes bad apples slip through the crack and wiggle their way over here.. but that doesn't destroy the name of this school.
Third, these people do care. When one of our teachers left this school moved down south to work in, what you would call a "real school" and not a training center, he got absoultely played and f***d over. BDW stayed strong and helped him pick everything back up after moving,paying for tickets, getting an apartment, etc. Even though he left they were still here to help, even though he said he didn't particularly want to come back to Changchun, they still would help him get home. Doesn't sound like they are that bad to me.
I am not some WHITE KNIGHT for this school, nor am I in managment, but I can't stand by any longer and watch this arguing going back forth between people who A) Don't know whats going on and B) Employees who are just unhappy for basically no reason or because they didn't get their way. We have teachers still working here (NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT ANTYHING) that have been here for 2-7 years. The rest our new guys after having teachers leave after being here for an extended time. NOne of them left on the terms of "I HATE BDW EFF THIS SCHOOL" they had to move on in their personal live
