Someone beating up kids has lost the ability to talk to them and teach them with reason.

I often worry about this in kindergartens... Usually foreign teachers won't beat them, but the Chinese TAs on site most likely will.

Especially older ones in rural areas. They have never even known what reason is. It probably didn't exist in their time.
