Re: EF Tangshan

When one speaks on disagreements often escalation results in both sides with sleeves rolled up and a testy attitude pushed to the fronts. What the gentleman was saying probably attempted at a sincere tilt towards the middle ground. Speaking out about the perils of what a few souls can do is a bit silly if I don't mind saying so. What can two or three people who disagree really do to you? Your antagonists would be too eager to bring upon malevolence if your argument continued.

Re: EF Tangshan

I actually see many foreigners taking advantage of the teaching industry. People who I know have worked at training centers get promoted and often become recruiters for these as well as other companies. Recruiting companies in ESL run by foreigners are on the rise. I don't think it's nice to take advantage of people who are not bright though, if they really are that. Solutions should be brought to help those in need.

It it damn bad form to take advantage of the dim and easily led. We seem to have a bunch of exceedingly weird characters on this site trying to mislead them. Trying to poison minds with fighting-talk. Talk that is designed to make their careers in China short-lived and miserable. Good luck to the foreigners who have included themselves in the ever-growing recruitment market. I never suggested that to offer the needy work in China was taking any sort of advantage. Good point that you brought up. And if you are taken advantage of, it's good lesson-learning stuff.

If we were in the West what this Lucky Strike Larry poster is saying might hold water but since were not, expecting Chinese to do the logical and reasonable thing in any situation will never happen unless they are literally made to do it otherwise they are just going to walk all over you. How many times have we all had to fight and explain for the reasoning of wanting a simple thing to happen only to be met with 'Duh-Faces' like we're the ones who are crazy?

They don't think you are crazy but they do notice that the average Ft is not the sharpest tool in the box. They are probably quite right, because, they do have to scrape the bottom of the barrel to recruit. The average FT is none too bright which is why he can't teach in his own country. You do sound like you are using communist-type reasoning 'The only way we can succeed is to use force and more force.

Re: EF Tangshan

Wrong! These business guys will fight and bully you, have seen that far too often, and it does not lead anywhere in the end. The way to change things is not talking to them but to put enough public pressure on the government and its authorities to change the rules under which such businesses can legally operate. In other words, there must be some kind of quality assurance process re educational matters and business practices before such outfits can be allowed to operate. That's the way to go, but no petty talks with them!" They have to be forced, they will not do anything on their own. Seems you live on planet Jupiter and are not aware of the rude business practices these low-lives have!

"Fanatic"? Maybe, you can call it like that. Anyone should be if education was put first!

You know it makes sense? Let that person have his say and carefully try and move him with your point of view.

Re: EF Tangshan

Nothing wrong with being funny, but no welcome and friendship for owners and supporters of crappy ESL businesses in China; that means changing sides, and I won't. And FYI, I am always angry when low-lives supporting these shitty businesses pop up here and spread their rubbish. The only thing to do is to give them the right answer, and that's my good right. I will never be inclusive in that matter, and therefore I will always recommend to those folks to try Dave's ESL cafe instead. .....hahahaha

Put it this way. You come across as a fanatic. The weak spot, the Achilles heel which secretly all fanatics have is a hidden doubt that they are wrong. And because of their hidden secret doubt they cannot ever halt and reflect; and feel they are not strong enough to admit being wrong.

Take a leaf out of our Saviors book. I know he did lose his rag on one occasion in the temple; however his complete message and conduct was to peacefully talk and listen to all manner of folk. Will you think about what I have said to you? Help is at hand. Let's all get around the table and talk to these 'businesses' It's the only way. You know it makes sense? Let that person have his say and carefully try and move him with your point of view.

He he haw haw, you're funny! No no no, you have to stretch out the hand of welcome and friendship to all; even those with opposite points of view. You were probably just angry? You know it makes sense

Who the hell would care about your reputation? I could not care less whether you had any at all. This board is not about someone like you but about ESL outfits and their (mostly) ruthless business practices in China and elsewhere. If you expect any praise of them, then you simply have come to the wrong place. Try Dave's ESL cafe instead. Period.

Re: EF Tangshan

So what you are saying is that you're an extremist, refusing neither to discuss nor be reasonable about anything. 'No middle ground' means that you have elevated your opinion to irrefutable, immortal truth; which it is anything but.

There is indeed a large amount of slander and idiocy in this post, which is actively undermining any good that can otherwise be achieved. And this most unprofessional mud-flinging and galvanic thinking is harming the quest for truth in this issue, and the bringing to justice and propriety of any criminals or lax people or business practices that do exist. If you're too busy with small-minded zealotry then none of this can occur.

If you wish to be on the right side of this issue, then you must communicate with intelligence, humility, integrity. I address this boot to whomever's foot it fits. If there is seriously a problem then provide evidence and argument in an intelligent and respectful manner. That which is asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence; that which is stated lacking in intelligence and respect can be dismissed in kind.

Thanks for your time.
