Turnoi, in fairness, has been more reasonable in the last couple of days
Well, Turnoi will not be going anywhere, but you might; and that would not be a good thing for the forum(in my opinion) and people who visit it. You would be able to provide advice and knowledge which perhaps the rest of us cannot. I would ask Turnoi to continue being more reasonable for the greater good. I am not optimistic that he is prepared to change. However, I look forward to changing your views on a few things, in a calm and friendly manner. Let's see if the forum can settle down first.
True, I have disagreed with you (Veloce) on many things and said as much. The difference is that my disagreement didn't result in attacks on my personality/intellect/gender/identity, as it does with Turnoi/CT/SB.
Turnoi, in fairness, has been more reasonable in the last couple of days, but I don't doubt the same passive aggressive use of quotation marks around the girl half of my handle are still bubbling under the surface. Unfortunately for Turnoi, CT has been posting some wonderful nonsense recently and I think Turnoi is trying to distance himself from that just a little bit!
It's a shame, had he been like that from the start, things may well have been different... Given Turnoi was the first to begin insulting me right back in his first response to my initial post. He set the tone, he cannot complain at receiving similar treatment. (fyi, I have no problem with people strongly refuting my opinion, it's when the personal and unfounded insults started flying I have a problem. Calling somebody a bad/inferior teacher because of the views they express is not the same as insulting somebody's personality/gender).
Having been on the receiving end of the fake-poster, gw, deecher insults, and knowing none of them to be true, rather makes me more inclined to trust those tarred with that same brush, than I am the ones brushing. Especially when their able to riposte without insulting.
Ha ha ha! Yes I did get it. Sadly these days are unlike the heady days for him, when he would return to the roost to the cooing acclaim of the seedy-six. Now he has to make do with one very tired coo from a bedraggled-looking stool pigeon. The poor animal is shattered because he has had orders to circle Essex all day picking up information. What has happened to the seedy-six? Don't know- they could be languishing in Chinese jails for all we know.
To Turnoi.
You keep trying to persuade LG to not have anything to do with me. You imagine because you and her share some views (for different reasons) you will stand a chance of driving a wedge. Unlikely mate, because if she picks holes in my English (and she has) I will either take it on the chin or argue in a reasonable way without recourse to smearing her good name and character. And this building up a dossier on her has to be really sick. Anyway, she has no agreement with me. I believe she has answered about two of my posts in a very short and direct way. All of this[your tactics] I am sure is being done to muddy the waters after she analysed your English. The verdict as I saw it was; it would be impossible for you to go head to head with that bus driver to land an FT's job, if you were both tested. LG has already stated she didn't agree with me.
Hahaha! that amused him. I don't know about pigeons and chess but there was certainly lots of outraged grunts, squeals and slip slidin' on those pearls we cast down for him.
I know! I really should know better than to play chess with pigeons!I should walk away; he's so far beneath your level.
When would any of that ever come up at even the most advanced level of ESL teaching?! It wouldn't. You are unable ti counter the real crux of the matter and are attempting to distract by confusing academic study of the history of English with teaching English as a second language.
He shouldn't be in a any argument concerning the English language. I should walk away; he's so far beneath your level.
The flowers that bloom in the spring,
Tra la,
Have nothing to do with the case.
I've got to take under my wing,
Tra la,
A most unattractive old thing,
Tra la,
With a caricature of a face,
With a caricature of a face.
And that's what I mean when I say, or I sing,
"Oh, bother the flowers that bloom in the spring."
Tra la la la la,
Tra la la la la,
"Oh, bother the flowers of spring."

It's interesting, yes, but a different field to frontline ESL teaching.
You don't need to boggle students with the history of spelling-sound causality in order to teach them how to pronounce each phoneme. It's nice to know from an academic standpoint, but really has nothing to do with frontline teaching, be that at A1 level or C2.
And lesson plans should be more than a rough structure/guideline, it helps to keep track of where your students are and where they are going, especially when preparing them for exams such as Cambridge or IELTS. Of course there may be deviations as things come up in the class, you have to go where the natural learning takes you, but then the lesson plan is helpful in planning the content and structure of the next class.
