I do consider English Literature to be a qualifying degree. When have I ever said otherwise?!

Being a native speaker without a degree or with a fake degree is not enough for teaching ESL..

Equally, in my opinion, neither does having an unrelated degree. The act of simply going to university does not qualify you to teach a language.
