It seems like you jumped in on a very old thread.
Daves ESL cafe. Yes it is still in operation, one of the most popular ESL sites.
It needs advertising revenue to support it so whilst their intentions are good they put income before ethics sometimes. Threads do tend to get pulled on the boards there if they threaten their income by becoming too anti their advertisers.
There are good jobs on there, not the selection there once was, mostly repeat recruiters and the likes of EF etc but be mindful that the advetisers are their revenue stream so they do put them first.
As for Yuncheng English Village, the ongoing thread seems to say it all. Unless you are desperate or wish to throw money away, give them a miss.
I would be interested if any other ex or existing employees of EV would give their opinions here not just the poster named 'the truth'.

And shame on Dave for allowing such schools to advertise on his site.
Dave's site? What site is that? Is it still in operation? Why do you think he allowed EV to advertise on his site? I take it you were of the opinion he should have been ashamed of having done so. For what reason(s) in your view? Would you advise foreign teachers to apply for jobs advertised on his site if it's still up and running?
