I find it strange that many teachers have fallen prey to recruiters in China and yet they are still going to them for jobs.

From my personal point of view, I would suggest giving recruiters a miss, reputable (sorry) or not. By giving them a miss, most schools will end up without foreign teachers and that leaves them with no alternative but start hiring direct. It's about time foreign teachers start thinking about their livelihood rather then getting themselves into all these mess. Why should we work our head off and allow these unscrupulous people not only to take away our hard earn money but pile miseries on us. If we are going to deprive schools of foreign teachers because they are using recruiters, so be it. Let all employers know that recruiters are not wanted and if they insist on using them - we will not be there.

Come on guys, it's about time we hang these people by their bolls to dry. It's sickening seeing postings from foreign teachers complaining about recruiters despite all the negative post about them.

I hate to say this, but if I come across any teachers posting complaints about recruiters I will not hesitate take nasty pot shot, not at the recruiters but them.
