In response to Re Word derivation (Sludge)
I did not mean "class" in that sense, I meant low class as in vulgar, so I used both terms to describe his language. Fair enough, it is almost christmas, each to their own.Did you like Fawlty Towers, perchance? I showed a skit between basil and manuel to highlight misunderstandings in language to my students in China, some of them got it, some of them did not. Here it is:
I got your meaning Sludge. Going off at a tangent a bit; the lower orders/class can be somewhat vulgar don't you find? hahaha! part of their rough diamond charm I suppose. I mean we wouldn't want the heir to the thrown to marry some mandy from a council estate would we?- all the Royals would be sitting in front of telly at Christmas scoffing food from laps, farting and cracking crude jokes hahaha!
