The Truth - 2015-09-26

Well, Yuncheng English Village have not changed their ways and they now advertise through 3rd party sites to scrub their identity.

They cannot find teachers for some of their contracts and are doing what they did last year; they are asking existing teachers to commute 45 minutes or more to other towns and other schools to maintain their contracts.

Salary, contract, and lack of benefits remain the same as reported previously and may even be 500 rmb per month lower in some cases.

Given all going on inside China at this time, if one *were* to decide to work in China (also not recommended), Yuncheng would be at the bottom of the list for any teaching position in any city in any province or region of China. Perhaps one or two other schools or organisations would be worse, but that is damning with very faint praise.

Given that a degree and 2+ years of experience are now required and an enforced regulation, China has lost any advantage in the teaching marketplace. Anyone with the qualifications can teach anywhere else, without the issues of dealing with China.

Several inside mention that those who *do* go are now even crazier than the admittedly crazy lot that had gone in prior years, but we are not in China any longer to confirm this. It seems likely that anyone who would go to work in China now, with the known issues, would be a wee bit of a nutter.
