There seems to be less and less foreigners in Nanning these days. That's probably the ultimate indicator of things.

related to the ETI scammer school and mentioned in another topic but the '6-week scam' is pretty much becoming so common its all but a standard business model for schools.

Start working for them 1st of the month. Work a full month (say 30 days). Then be informed payday for that months earnings will be on the 15th. On the 15th the foreign teacher recieves a fraction of expected salary. (50% less, missing 1000s, once saw 80% missing). Whatever the number the school grins because if the foreign teacher quits then they keep the 2 weeks (of current month) too!

If the teacher stays then its a fantastic way for the director to pocket and easy 5000 rmb (or whatever they stole). It also is a good way to make the foreign teacher reliant since it might be they spent all their own money for the first 2 months and now (with the theft of their 1st months pay) they have no choice but to stay.

Easytalk English is just doing whats become the standard scam it seems most schools use today. They will hire a new victim and use them for 6 weeks worth of work for 2 or 3 weeks pay. then again, then again. They will also have the ongoing attraction of inviting everyone to see yet another new foreign teacher!
