I was there not long ago. The FAO was the absolute worst. I don't know where marc was living, but there were no new apartments for foreign teachers. The existing "apartments" were dirty little one-room hovels with no television (only a wire hanging from the ceiling), buggy computers, and a jail door leading to the foreign teachers' quarters. If there had been a fire, everyone would have been roasted.
The a/c heater leaked in the summer and broke down in the winter. The place is located way out in the sticks. To get to town, you have to ride a crammed bus for an hour.
There was an electrical switch right next to the shower head in my bathroom!
Yeah. You have to leave during spring festival and during the summer and live in a hotel at your own expense, even though it violates the contract.
Unless you are stupid or desperate, avoid this h3ll hole

I will say: i was there a few years ago. At first i was a little worried, but they were in the process of building new apartments. They were really nice. I never had a problem with pay and I only worked about 8 hours a week. The only problem i had was I had to leave during spring festival. Although they paid for the month, i had to pay a hotel payment which sucks. Overall, it wasn't that bad.
