Yeap, and viet, kind of gone off Taiwan, seems the woman are too materialistic and superficial, and the cost of living, while cheaper than HK, is more than mainland china. Mainland china itself has got more expensive....not sure I'd go to Taiwan now, and offers of teaching kids don't tempt me in the slightest, asia should be an easier life, not a harder one!!!!!

Re Chinese women, the following might interest you:

I had helped a Canadian who had been accepted by that country as a former Afghani asylum seeker to get a public senior high school job at a school on the outskirts of Urumqi some 10 years ago. His English was dodgy. His facial features were Arabic.

At said school, he avoided Han lady teachers. He found a Hui nationality girlfriend; he said she had a better attitude than Han women have, and was therefore acceptable to him as marriage material. Later they married. He had had to do a visa run to one of the former Asian Russian republics to convert his tourist visa to a Z visa. He said the way of thinking of the people of that country was refreshingly different from the way the Chinese think. He would have loved to teach there, but he wouldn't be able to make the kind of money he could make in China.

I dunno what became of him, but I do know there are some 'nationality' schools, colleges and universities in China. The ladies who teach there who aren't of Han nationality might constitute better wife material for FTs.

Cheers and beers!
