Budweiser is 13 to 15 rmb a bottle at most restaurants. I used to drink it in Nanning because mostly there was no choice, unless you go to the BBQ shops in the market behind Zhongshan lu, where local beer is about 6 rmb a bottle now I think.

Bloody hell! That's expensive compared to my neck of the woods! I'd guess college/university FTs chilling out in Nanning on 12 clock hours a week should be on at least 7,000 - 7,500 RMB/a month in order to be able to afford the same lifestyle as their fellow FTs teaching in Hohhot, where salaries tend to be around 6,000 RMB a month, but the cost of living is significantly lower.

For example, eateries here sell local beer from 4 RMB/ (big) bottle, not just cafes, but also medium-sized restarants!
