There are jews from Russia, which as I recall, did look white and european, compared with Iranian jews, the difference was quite noticeable. I found the hook nosed jew stereotype to be a myth, some look european and you would not know they are jewish unless it was mentioned, and others looked more middle eastern and could pass as arabs unless they mentioned it. There may be subtle noticeable differences, but aside from the orthodox hasidic jews who dress like they are in Poland in the early 19th century, most would go by unnoticed. Perhaps I am wrong and have had a swig too many, but it is an interesting topic.
