Do not work for a private school in China they all treat you as a dog only people with fake degrees stay more than 2 years. The real money is in private lessons or other work.

Take a job with as few lessons as possible and long holidays which are paid

Chinese bosses suck, they see you as their personal property and not a human being.

I just want to warn people about working for Meten English. I came to China thinking I would be working for a large company legally however Meten is a corrupt company that makes you work illegally. I was sent to get a work visa from another province in China, which I learned is completely illegally. So I ended up quitting and returning home after just a few months.

Not much real teaching during my short stay, being a female I was treated as a marketing tool. Also being young and pretty will help you rather than having a degree. I worked with some real losers who were not educated just made to do a crap TEFL course to get a visa. This is not accredited and taught by some uneducated drunk called Jason I think. I wouldn’t wipe my ass with that fake course certificate! Luckily employees have different salaries and I was paid 2000 RMB a month more than some backpacker teachers who did not negotiate before signing their life in China away.

But the material they use is garbage! Books that would never be published in any developed country or perhaps even by Meten if their Chinese managers actually had the courage to inform their scary leaders of the insulting crap in them. They insult the English language, Chinese people, teaching and even Meten!

What a joke of a company, how it is called an education centre I will never know!

It is like a zoo for farmers to look at white people and listen to narcissists talk about themselves because nobody in their own country cares!

I wish I went to Korea or Japan but I have heard its not much better, just that the people are of a better class
