Unfortunately, decent and clean food is one thing even the wealthiest expat who is retired or who is in the best job possible in China will have to face. I remember reading on another china based forum about a canadian bloke who was employed in I.T. in China, who wanted to take his chinese family out of China, and to Australia. He thought it was ok as a single bloke, but with wife and child, not so much.

A decent selection of cheese, a properly done steak or lamb chops, wood fired pizza, and many other western comforts and foods will no longer be available to you in China, moving out or to another country opens up a whole other world of clean and varied food.
