Writer, you sound like another poster on this site, but I will respect your right to privacy.

Yes there is a lot of cheat and deception in not only helen tefl, but a lot of recruiters in China.

Re: Zhejiang University Helen China tefl Network Co., Ltd.

I worked for this crap company of cheat, lies and deception last year. They hired me as their "Senior TEFL Specialist" and asked me to write TEFL teacher training course materials for them. This is what I had done. But I was not paid properly, they put me up in a run-down company apartment and made my life difficult in many ways. After some time, I was trying very hard to get the hell out of there, and since they did not pay me properly, I took all the materials I had written with me and did not hand them over to them. As it is my work that I was not paid for properly, it still is my intellectual property and I am still the legitimate copyright holder. I have now made these materials freely available on here, for example this part:

http://www.eslteachersboard.com/cgi-bin/books/index.pl?read=147

There are also other parts that you can find there under the header of "teacher training" by "writer". I am currently working on an updated and improved version of the texts to be included in "my" own college's curriculum for English teacher training.

Helen's crap company will never make it up to a company with quality services that can provide high quality material for English teacher training. They are a lousy bunch of mean and greedy and highly unprofessional people that do not deserve any respect whatsoever.

A lot of rubbish what you wrote, and it made me so sick I couldn't even finish reading it all. Silverboy is right, take a hike, it is GW nonsense. Many teachers myself included got screwed over by helen tefl in hangzhou....disgraceful!!!!

Re: Zhejiang University Helen China tefl Network Co., Ltd.

Oh my God, I couldn't believe it! Another deecher in China! Helen's crappy company must have really gone down the river if they only can find deechers like this one!

I am a teacher NOW for the Helen Company. I worked as a car salesman, a gaming commissioner at the Coconut Creek Casino in Pampano Beach FL, worked for the DOH in Fla, also am a US Army infantry Vet, worked as a mail man in Windermere, Fla, worked in the Animal Kingdom of WDW, was a sub-teacher in Orange Cty Fla, ..... heck, I did almost everything looking for a job in Gringoland. Oh, I am a biker, own a Harley Ultra and am not a poser. Have more miles in that steel horse than many have in a car.

Tell me what this previous work history of yours has to do with teaching "now"! Selling cars or riding a bike is not the same as teaching! Does selling cars, working as a mailman and all that automatically qualify you for real teaching? Your students would really deserve better in getting a professional educator and not a bike rider who thinks he can teach because he can ride a bike!

Now, there are a lot of wieners here, complaining about a company that gave us the chance that our own country didn't.

And your English is so "excellent"....You don't know how to spell wieners correctly, do you? And I am very sure America gave you chance but you failed to take it!

Well, Helen's crappy company really deserves you....hahahaha

Re: Zhejiang University Helen China tefl Network Co., Ltd.

True, I mean I’m not one for elitism, but wouldn’t you prefer to work for a company that hires those with a good education, that probably got good grades from a good university than a company whose main source of ‘talent’ are alcoholic or drug addicted homeless people?

So, what you get are companies that are; as opposed to being proud of their great performance and only wanting to recruit the very best, thus rejecting most applicants, is a company that likes to shout out “We will give absolutely anybody a job”. Which ultimately means that it is not the work of the ‘successful applicant’ that will earn money for the company, but the ‘successful applicant’ themselves, through exploitation, getting scammed etc.

There are even companies that would prefer to hire shit people, because they are easier to control. Even notice that the foreign D.O.S at almost every TC is a complete useless dildo with nowhere else to go?

One shit company that I previously worked for said that they preferred hiring British teachers to American ones because they are more polite and not so bad-tempered. What they really expected from a British guy like me, was ‘unconditionally obedient, regardless of how much you get shit on’. What they really meant was that stereotypically , Americans whether it be it a character flaw or a character strength, tend to be more direct and take less shit in general, hence they perceive them as being more difficult to control. Maybe, they had just had more than few destroy them at the Labour Bureau...

Re: Zhejiang University Helen China tefl Network Co., Ltd.

I think the famous elder troll known by me as The Willyless One of Manchester started the trend of making people believe that people who go to China are homeless. Now companies who have expats who read these forums try and spread the idea that down and out folks somehow need these companies around. But hey these crap companies pretending to be educators just shoot their own feet when they do things like this.

Re: Zhejiang University Helen China tefl Network Co., Ltd.

What is hell is it with fake schools and their claims of helping the down and out, homeless etc? It just shows that they are just evil bastards that like to target and take advantage of the more vulnerable foreigners out there.

Re: Zhejiang University Helen China tefl Network Co., Ltd.

Very nicely dissected for everybody to see.

The false foreigner reviews always seem to follow a similar pattern.

Oh, I am a biker, own a Harley Ultra and am not a poser. Have more miles in that steel horse than many have in a car.

Yeah...none of these jobs you bragged about sounds like they would prepare you for improving the lives of your students. Your rather racist comment on being in "gringoland" isn't winning you any favors. Also, not all of us are avid bikers. You can talk about how great your life was as a biker but at the end of the day what the hell does that have anything to do with teaching?

I was homeless in the US when Helen Company gave me a chance. I received the terms of the contract before I got my Visa and when I arrived, everything that was promised was fulfilled. I knew exactly when I was going to get paid and knew exactly the conditions in which I had to work.

It is unfortunate that you were in the situation that you were in. There are almost 50 million Americans who are on food stamps right now and the middle class in American is dwindling every day as we speak. It is an Economic Downturn that the country is facing. With that being said, you are a Native English Speaker. There was another Non-Native English Speaker who was also hired by Helen's earlier this year but was not given proper living conditions as required by Chinese Law. The non-native fellow ended up spending 4,000 Euros on traveling, living, and other expenses thinking he could have a stable job in China when he ended up being short changed. You from your post do not sound like as if you care too much about the Law. While I will refrain from sounding too judgmental, please keep in mind that most people from the West still have standards. Your own lack of caring about others is as much of a testament to your own level of character as it is to the living conditions that you were in back in the USA. . Apparently, you missed the posts or just simply do not care. America is worse off than before because there are still too many like you living in this country.

Now, there are a lot of wieners here, complaining about a company that gave us the chance that our own country didn't. They may not be perfect and they may not do things like you are used to back home. But, for Christ sake, bashing them now when we came here because we needed a job?

Many, many expat "deechers" or pretend teachers I have met in China fit the category of someone who is selfish, amoral, and narcissistic. In other words they have a pretty crappy personality, and you are one. Back home it is not "perfect" either. Nobody said so. Show me one post on here that says something along the lines of "The West is perfect". What people "bash" according to you is the crappy treatment that they get. This crappy treatment would be called CRAP no matter where you go in the world. The comparisons that are made are accurate. You don't like respecting yourself, so you call those who do "wieners". That's about the same thing a 9 year old kid would say.

I am just glad to be living in a safe country, a country that gave me a second chance. If you don't like it, stay at home but, remember, a lot of us liked the opportunity an will stay here for as long as they let us. Hell, I am learning Chinese, may even stay here and be safe for the rest of my life. Yeap, I found another Ultra owner in Tiantai.

Spoken exactly like someone who just came to the country and is still enduring the "honeymoon" phase of Culture Shock. I have lived in unsafe neighborhoods in the USA too. I myself as well as people close to me have been robbed or even punched. That does not mean that there won't be people to protect us. Police still do their jobs, if imperfectly in the USA. In China, they are pretty much there to be lazy and incompetent save the border provinces with ethnic tensions. You think it is safe because you have not been through enough shit in the country that you just arrived in. Try getting ripped off once in a while and see how much the police care about you getting owed money. Try getting crappy customer service in that country and see how many outlets you can go to remedy the situation. Also, how could we know if one country is better than another if we did stay at home? Just you tooting your own hateful, self centered horn again.

Now, get on with your lives and tell the truth, you came here (China) thinking that you could play with the Chinese system and found out the difference between a mature civilization and a baby-civilization like the US. or wherever you come from.

Earlier in your post, you had stated how you were grateful to have a "second chance". Now this could be read in a number of ways including the fact that you might be an ex-convict. I actually went to China years ago believing that I could make a life in a Civilized country. Not "play" a system. I do not think you have hung out around too many decent people in your life. Also, I wonder how well you know Americans. Apparently in your short time staying in China you have already talked to and interacted with enough local Chinese that you find them to be much more civilized than Americans. With that kind of statement, you are in line to become the new "forum pet retard" or something along those lines as coined by another regular poster on here.

China's current language only has a very, very short history of being implemented into her society. Fact is, most of Chinese Culture isn't around in that country anymore. The actual, habitual behavior as accumulated by the Chinese is really caught up in a never ending, self perpetuating cycle of not more than a few hundred years where every change of Dynasty winds up with the previous Civilization completely destroyed and the people having to start off from pure scratch again. The USA's Civilization is a mixture of Greek, Roman, Judaism, Christianity, Native American Spiritualism, and a congregation of almost every known civilization from around the world. There is accumulation, but you need to be well versed in the ideals of being a polite and civilized person yourself if you want to be immersed. With that last sentence you wrote, you sound like another sore loser who couldn't get along with anyone back home and that is why you had to leave.

My second year here and will do 5 if I am given a chance. 50 years old and for the first time in my life I feel safe and free. Can you say the same about NY, GA, KY, NC, FL or PR? Yeap, because I lived in all those places.

I myself have worked and lived in several countries. I still say the USA is the best out of all of them. Let me ask you this: What are the chances of most people in the USA completely agreeing with you on this? If most did agree, China would see a sudden and massive immigration from the USA that would boggle the mind. Instead, most Americans are still more than happy to stay where they are and stick it out. It wouldn't bode well for you if the country all of a sudden got filled up with intelligent, intellectual, and/or skilled(as in a form of trade) expats now would it? You might be going to another country again.

I personally have seen people of various backgrounds go to China and try to make a life for themselves there. What I can say from looking at your post is that if you were a 50 year old Chinese American, Filipino, East European, or African Man who did this you would be eaten alive by the society and spit back out after they've finished exploiting you for everything you were worth. You sound like a bully anyway from all the nonsense you've written. But your post does serve to show the types of lowlives who find China desirable. I feel bad for any young child who has to cross paths with you, as well as anyone with a love for life.

Idiot people who have the luxury of having a choice want to believe somehow that being around people who don't have any choices in their lives makes those idiots "better" for being around "more civilized" no-choice-in-life people. What a joke!

However, some one is saying something against the company., That is fine, we had already had a new lawyer who has been working in internet defamation cases in China. And we will let the police do it.

To be honest, everyone here posts either from behind a VPN or outside of China. Thus there being no actual reason for anybody be scared of any such threats whatsoever.

Also, I severely doubt that this website is hosted in China and is therefore not subject to Chinese laws. Bribe whoever you want, this is the internet (of the international variety), you have no power here, lol.

In fact, we may as well just carry on provoking you guys more for own entertainment.

And with Chinglish like

i want to thank you anyway for you have provided us a wonderful training material.
, there is absolutely no reason for anybody on this board to respect anybody from your company or believe what you or others from your company say. Besides, we all know that such tactics of putting people down and trying to make them lose face are quite common in China. We only have to read a newspaper to know that when it comes to foreigner or Japan bashing season.

May I ask that when it comes to talking about learning their lessons, what lessons? To be afraid of the mighty power of the corrupt evil Helen's empire? Nah sorry but we just aren't afraid of you on here.

You guys are yet another crap company that has tried to save face on a public message board, but only made yourself look worse. Other crap companies have learnt their lessons and disappeared into the wilderness, only for these postings to forever remain as evidence that your company is not worth working for.

It is so great when a company's damage limitation measures serve no purpose but to dig a deeper hole. If you respond to this, I might just go and get my popcorn, ready to watch you get further humiliated.

Mandy has been your friend and was never meant to harm you. Vanessa was your manager. I don't understand that why you want defame them. No one in the company tried to hurt you, why do you think every one is against you?
You make your freinds name appear on the website, why not yourself?

For so long that you pretend to be a foreign teacher in China, but we all know you are not.

You have been using different names, but everyone knows it is you. You have been acting like a clown making everyone laughing.

Veiwing your daili post has beena major activity of entertaining for every one who knows about you.

We all know the reason that why you do so, only because you have failed your carreer and got nothing to do.

You lost your job, you lost your income. We know you are angry. But remember, you made yourself in this desprate situation and refuse to accpet. What a poor man.

As someone who used to be your friend, I would like to take this opporutnity to make you reliaze that things you have done could hurt people who used to be your partner.

So far you have been acting like a little pupy, barking to anyone near you. But you have no power but defaming people.

By the way, Dr.Ross has reported to the company that you have been trying to convince him to be working for your training school in Bingjiang, Hangzhou. He said he did not aware that was not from the company's offer. But now, he realize that you were trying to make him work illegally.

Your case is now become the classic case we use to train our new employees. Everyone enjoyed your case but they also learned their lesson from you.

I want to thank you anyway for you have provided us a wonderful training material.

The end
