Hi John,

I read your comment below with interest.

Were you able to find out any more information?

Did you take up the offer to teach at this kindergarten?

Regards,

Greg.

Re: Meg Bilingual International Kindergarten Beijing

I'm currently a foreign teacher working at a bilingual kindergarten in Beijing. I don't know about the one you mentioned, but it's true-- a lot of the working conditions in Beijing aren't the greatest. Would you be working directly for the school or through a teacher placement company?

The school where I work is a small private kindergarten but our boss is kind and our salaries are competitive and always paid on time. If you're interested you can ask me some questions and I would be happy to help you out :) i've been in Beijing for 2 years now.

I don't know that particular place; but as an old China hand I can tell you that as a rule these kindergartens in China are operated by idiots with an intelligence level lower than the kids they are looking after. They are operated by private business people trying to make a quick buck, so don't expect any pedagogical standards, rude and illegal treatment in contract matters like not being paid in full and on time. Private kindergartens in China are a big avoid, and if you really felt called to working with young learners, you should try real Primary School run publicly instead.
Kindergartens in China like the one you have mentioned are shitholes in general that no decent teacher/nurse should ever work for!

Sad, but true. They feed off the fact that some nouveau riche parents are so desperate to give their kids the best start in life, but haven't got the slightest clue about to go about doing that.

Meg Bilingual International Kindergarten Beijing

I have just been offered my 1st teaching position at Meg Bilingual International Kindergarten Beijing, as a kindergarten teacher. I am struggling to find much about the working conditions etc from any overseas teachers, or any up to date information in general. I have seen the reports about meal conditions but that was back in 2011.

I would appreciate any information/advice that can be passed on

Thanks in advance
