You are right on Hitler's timing there. I think Gin Gis Khan's people similarily overstretched into the cold times in Europe too. What scares me is that history repeats too often. Hitler and Stalin had respect for each other till one attacked the other. Now, Trump has it for Putin similarily, although Vlad can find Donald and half of America much easier than the other way around.

I also agree on the nuke technology there. Not long ago, about a few months, there were some huge British ships taking an absurd amount of plutonium and other nuke stuff from Japan to some "undisclosed location". Hard to imagine the day when those nations disagree on issues and then all the nuclear technology and whatever that comes with it turns into weapons Earth has never seen before. That day will be the day when everything will be in everyone's interest together.

Not at all Hitler and logistics and a shocking winter did it for them. Hitler should never have invaded Russia at that stage, summer or winter. Certainly a lily-livered USA could have been vanquished by Hitler further down the line.

The USA would have seen us in the gutter picking up dogends. We have been ingratiating ourselves to America ever since the war- not least of all concerning even destroying our aircraft industry with the TSR2 one-way-deal. Then there was the handing of Jump-jets to them on a plate. The only independent thing we have done is in keeping AWRE Aldermaston manufacturing and in place. What we are now doing is even worse by allowing foreign countries to build out nuclear power stations, Although, a Chinese interest is probably safer with less strings attached than an American interest.
