Re: Re horses for courses

Please provide Churchill's quote and it's date. I cannot locate it. Why would you directly quote an anonymous 'Battle of Britain pilot' when you don't directly quote Churchill?

In 1940 the world, including Churchill, was unaware of the genocidal camps. The were discovered by the Russians as they pushed the Germans back on the Eastern front. The British, with the U.S., first landed in Normandy on June 1944, still unaware of the genocide.

Many in the U.S. have contempt for British imperialism; credit George William Frederick for that. Roosevelt before his death repeatedly spoke of an end to imperialism while Churchill lamented that the empire was falling under his watch.

Churchill, a great writer if a consummate conniver, was adamant that: "No American will think it wrong of me to proclaim that to have the United States at our side was was to me the greatest joy."

As to why he felt that way, please read that attached, again a direct quote.
