These agents change their names because its not a "legal" name on their identification documents. They simply go from one English name to another which is why it is harder to track them down to expose them. The also work hand in hand with the schools so teachers get bounced for answers from school to agent. The only one who loose is the unsuspecting teacher. Moral of the story. Do not trust Chinese, especially not the corrupt agents and schools.

These people use different company and personal names and they move from province to province. Their network of corruption is everywhere. Even in the schools that seem all legit. The original 'Fired by text" case went to the labor court in Hangzhou and the teacher actually won her case. She was paid all the money she was owed and 2 weeks compensation. She refused to back down. Sadly, not all teachers have the courage to deal with the threats and simply pack up and leave. This particular school " Little Doctor" has had many problems. They have faked teaching degrees to obtain work permits, even for teachers with legit degrees they submitted fake " teaching" degrees". A way for them to cheat and refuse payments. When the teacher complains they claim the teacher submitted the fake degree. Most of the teachers this happened too left China without wages out of fear. Stay away from this school and agents in general. Apply to schools direct.

Is this "Maggie"the infamous "Maggie Mei"? She also uses the alias "Shan Zhang". I had a bad experience with her back in 2008. She set me up with a job at a college in Ningbo. When I arrived in early I was told I wouldn't be paid until November because the classes didn't start until October. I then (foolishly) negotiated and agreed to take half my contracted salary for September. Probation was reduced from 3 months to 3 weeks because it was a "short-term". At the end of those 3 weeks in October I was terminated because I "failed to satisfy the school's requirements during the probation period" and because I "didn't do as good a job as" the other teacher. I also lost my airfare because I was "terminated with cause". I then naively accepted a job with "Maggie" at Sino Canada High and I was also let go after 5 weeks on what were unsubstantiated and trumped up charges.
She used the emails mmsuzhou@gmail.com and ilovebluefish@yahoo.com.cn. I also know she was involved with professionally and possibly romantically with another agent called Scott Butler who runs the agency "English Jintian". Scott deals with many dubious schools as well.
Please let me know and spread the word to avoid such agents.

I was one of the unlucky "stupid too" ones that landed up with unethical agents called Maggie & Leo and Hangzhou Yuhang Little Doctor Art Kindergarten here in Linping. For 4 months I had endless problems with the Agents and the school owner Mrs Li. They played me like a yoyo regarding my working hours, wages, overtime, extra lesson for extra pay etc. Turns out they are best friends so no one really had any intention of assisting me and finding a solution. I have so much evidence of all their little games they played, ducking and diving and lie after lie for 4 months. Long story short I finally had enough after they breached the contract / working conditions over and over and owing me thousands they had the audacity to still try renegotiate a new contract with the conditions that I work more hours for less money. They used words like we know you love the children here so if you want to continue working here you MUST.........I refused. Then they brought in another foreigner teacher (same agent) to try intimidate me into accepting their new deal. Naturally, I refused and so I resigned handing them a 3 page letter listing all the employment conditions breached AND I was nice to give them 1 month notice. Well then the threats, intimidation etc. got even worse and the day after I resigned the "agent" Maggie fired me via text message. So here I am they threated to hurt me, cancel my visa, force me to leave China, and that the landlord will come take back my apartment bla bla bla. I'm still here and they still playing hide and seek. All I need is my money and a release letter and I'll be on my merry way but it seems in China it doesn't work this way.
