Other names for the university: FUIST or Fuwai.

This place is remote. It is up in the mountains and is an hour bus ride away from Fuzhou. It is technically part of Fuzhou but is really in a smaller city next to Fuzhou called Changle. You can take a bus to get to the downtown of Changle in about 25 minutes, but Changle is very small for a Chinese city.

The pay is about 8400RMB/month, for 10 months.

The curriculum is disorganized-- everyone does their own thing, inputting grades is difficult because the website is only in Chinese. Most foreign teacher classes are teaching a required English course to students whose major is not English, thus they have very little motivation to learn. That said, some students will surprise you and work hard. However, most students English ability is zero, so don't count on having conversations with them.

They have free food, but it is covered in oil, making it disgusting and largely inedible.

The worst thing about working at FUIST is the visa process. The people they have doing the Z visa work for foreign teachers make mistakes constantly and never admit fault. You will likely have to go to Hong Kong several times without reimbursement to get your Z visa.

Pros:
- easy teaching, little planning required
- lots of free time

Cons:
- location is remote
- curriculum is disorganized
- visa process is slow and poorly done

Overall: the place is just OK. You could do better, you could do worse.
