Re golden staffing horrible recruiter

Anyone who is interested in accepting a teaching position in China through Golden Staffing
should be aware that for 8 years they have been bringing foreign teacher candidates
illegally into China on tourist visas then sending them to Hong Kong in an attempt to
acquire legal Z visas.
If that is the kind of organization that you choose to fly half-way around the world to work
with, you deserve whatever happens to you.

The first year, shame on them. Ever since: shame on you.

Or you can just ignore the official line of the PRC Commissioner in HONG KONG.

I think you are either plain blind or have very selective reading skills.

We can argue what SHOULD means, but I certainly would not want to risk it. If that is letting fear take hold of me, so be it. The FT's can of course try it your way, but you, and only you, will be accountable. will you take an oath to agree to pay all their bills should they fail in Hong Kong? you up for that???

Every story has two sides and every song has twelve versions!!

We have had hundreds of teachers do it and I have done it myself. If it was untrue, there will be lots of documented evidence on the Internet telling us so, or we can just listen to you and let our fears take hold of us :-)

You have one documented case where you are correct, or are we very charitable and helping others and letting them decide? Bug off buddy and let potential teachers decide for themselves.

Re golden staffing horrible recruiter

We have been recruiting teachers since 2007 and I do not have one single case where the Hong Kong visa run did not work…

Again, *sigh* I go off this:

5. Applicants who do not enjoy HK resident status should apply for visas with the Chinese Embassies or Consulates General in their countries of citizenship or residence.

We can argue as to what SHOULD may mean, but would you really want to take a gamble and read between the lines, and have the visa application refused?

Thanks again John.

I have been in person to enquire at the PRC commissioners office in Wan Chai and the staff there told me to apply for the Z visa and complete the process back at a consulate in the UK. I suppose if one has the documents that say apply in HK issued from within China, they may have luck, but I wouldn't want to risk the nailbiting and "what if?"

I do wish the mods would make this a sticky:

Could anybody post the phone numbers and email addresses of this agency? This would ensure that future potential victims will find this thread in search results.

Strange, give a proof or are you just spreading lies? We have been recruiting teachers since

Go ahead and get the Z visa before coming to China if you want, it doesn't matter. We're just
giving you more options.

Again, thank you for your honesty. Breaking the law is always an option.

It's just common sense to get a Z visa. It's always better to be safe than sorry.

And San Migs actually lives in HK, he probably knows a fair few unfortunate foreigners who have had problems doing the Z-visa run.

I actually know of foreigners who have both succeeded and failed on the HK visa run. One even says its merely a matter of luck, got rejected once, yet successfully applied 2 days later.

The question should be: If you flying over from North America, U.K/Eire, Australia/NZ or wherever, do you really want all that potential hassle?

Sure, you're giving them options, but I would say that they aren't particularly great options.

Yeap, especially as the HK visa run is no longer doable. A big GW the OP is!

Yes, you're right, mate.

Isn't that the same guy who claimed he didn't have a pot to piss into? Wonder what happened to him.
