As for informing, it depends what you're informing about. If you have a drug dealer, nonce or murderer sort running around, then you are probably ok to inform on them in my eyes. But be aware that the local PSBs themselves are often lazy bastards that will always avoid doing too much work, so in many cases, you're better off dealing with things internally in your local laowai community. Or these days, just c**t them off in your local laowai WeChat group and hope that the token local guy (always a potential snitch, never to be trusted) informs on them to his uncle in the police.
