Most expats I met had some baggage that they were running away from back home. That plus a low IQ makes them attracted to the equally low intelligence population of modern china. This country is filled with people who project their superstitions onto others and ignore reality. Perhaps the equal stifling of reality is what attracts both sides together.I, though do not care too much about giving out sympathy to either side. The more you give, the more it gives them an excuse to NEVER change. Anyway, the world's population is growing to the point where anything can happen, including catastrophe. For some people, it's the only way to learn and change.
A low IQ does not make you a bad person. It's good that such people do have recourse to teaching their mother tongue. Chinese students don't need brainy teachers. So as we say where I come from 'Put wood in th'ole..
Nowt personal, just saying like!

I resist assessing the intelligence of any individual for several reasons, not the least of which is the fear that my writing ability will betray my own limited intellectual capacity.

There is also a Yulin in Guangxi province, the location of the vile "Dog Meat Festival" every June.
It is a shitty place but the town of Beiliu nearby is quite fun for a few days visit, hilarious women.
The way they chase after foreign men is akin to flies rushing toward a fresh piece of dog poo.
Very amusing!
Yes. The interesting question is why it does. And does it still? Food for thought...
China attracts the worst expats.
I met an American who fits this profile as well. At the time said person was working at Aston Traning Centers around northern china. I met him in Yulin, a small city in northern Shaanxi province. His wife at the time was from Tangshan in hubei originally. Don't know if they are still there. They probably are.
My sources told me a south african who is married to a former student of his and much younger than him also has this kind of temperament. He works at a GAC-ACT center attached to Guilin Foreign Language School in Guangxi province.
