I have been to Nanjing to teach, and out of all the cities I have been to in China it is the dirtiest, and the most hostile. There is no western hospital or clinic there, the school I was at lied about having medical insurance and I had to be flown to Hong Kong for surgery. When I got there is when they told me we had no medical insurance, so I was out of pocket for all the expenses. GCA is being sued by so many people its a helluva long line up with very hope of being reimbursed -

Nanjing is one of the dirtiest cities in China. The people are hostile to foreigners, most of the taxi drivers not only dont speak any English or Mandarin most cant read (illiterate) an address (written in Chinese) or a map. None of them want to admit this so getting in a taxi is a crap shoot 99% of the time.

We were refused train tickets to Shanghai ! The woman at the train station flatly refused to sell them to us !! We had to go back the next day when someone else was working and buy them then.

I tell everyone I know, China is a wonderful exciting country but stay the hell out of Nanjing !!!

Interesting how no other teachers have picked up on this thread about this school and related their own horrific experiences isnt it?
